All right, folks. If you think you know movies, then can you answer me this little question? It's a movie I saw years ago on TV and for the love of it I can't remember its name. All I know is
A) It's in b&w
B) It's about a little boy (maybe with glasses I'm not sure and I THINK he looked a little like Opie from the Andy Griffith Show but memory plays tricks on you.)
C) His parents have an argument one day because his mom is getting paid money to pose for racy pictures. She seems ashamed of it, but the parents won't turn down the money. The dad makes an argument about the boy sayin, "He'll pick it up from some kid in the street sooner or later" and the mom says that the man who takes the porn pics should be locked up for what he does. They're not sure if their son should know or what to tell him when he finds out (from that hypothetical older boy in the street)
D)And this one's important. The boy's only seeming release from this stressful environment is going to the movies. I recall he goes to see Charlie Chaplin in one scene.
E) There is one shot in particular that stands out. I think it was not long after you see the boy in the theater laughing at Chaplin. You see the boy sitting as if he's going to pose for a portrait. He's looking directly at the camera and there's a black background. The camera just slowly zooms in on his face and you see how miserable this kid really is.
That's all I know. I was a kid when I saw it and I don't recall watching the ending. Anyone know? Probably an early 60s movie but I could be wrong.
