i dont think im legally allowed to say that the pumpkins are my favourite band anymore. im not sure if i can even really say im a fan. i dont listen to them at all anymore. and when i do, i dont really enjoy it much. im always thinking of what else i would rather be listening to. my cds are collecting thick layers of dust.
but i dont know who else would be my favourite band. i cant even really think of anyone deserving of consideration.

i never really thought a time would come when i didnt like them anymore. im not sure that i dont like them, im probably just really fucking sick of them. but its sad. i feel like i dont belong on this board anymore.

Same, really. I never knew much about them, either, and I have very few Pumpkins songs on my computer.

so you got older and your tastes changed, good for you. but I'll never write off the pumpkins, they were too fucking sick to do that.

I dont liek where your music tastes are headed if you dont like pumpkins anymore and youre going to an Elton John concert :(

I didn't listen to them for the longest time because I was pretty much burned out on the cd's. Then I downloaded Mashed Potatoes and it all seems so fresh and new again.

Ugh, those things get in my apartment all the time. They're super fast runners, and it feels like they're looking at you, whether they really are or not. The lightbulb in my building's hallway is burnt out, and the other day one came galloping toward me in the semi-darkness. I ran back into my apartment and hid until daylight. The next day, I was sitting at my computer and felt like I was being watched--I looked over my shoulder and the damned thing was sitting on the wall, staring at me, doing that horrid thing they do with their feelers. Then it stared to look all jumpy, so I ran into the closet and started throwing shoes at it from there. I went through about three pairs before I finally got it.

Yuck. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

bro, those are so poisonous. I have these spiders that are like about the size of ahalf dollar & brown. They don't have the fiddle on the back so I don't think they're a Brown Recluse. But they can jump like 8 inches at a time. I have geckos too which I know are not harmful but kriest they make me jump. I have a really healthy/mature st. augistine yard that stays pretty damp even in the Texas heat.

Hell, on Friday nite I saw an armadillo in the street across from my house. What disease do those carry?

I live in England man, we have like only one or two venomous species of anything, and Ive never seen anything dangerous here! The centipede just freaked me out cos theyre strange little critters. Might have been a millipede, I dont really know the difference.

Armadillos? fuck knows: AIDS?

Dude, I am no expert, nor a fan of centipedes, but I think that lizards and jumping spiders beats centipedes. You should most definitely flee the state or at least invest heavily in the pest control market.

Centipedes (http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/2000/2067.html)

ok, may not be as poisonous as I thought, but still pack the punch of a bee sting. And if one of those was in my bed.....

Armadillos (http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/articles/AA/tca2.html)

yes, Armadillos carry Leprosy.

I have gone months without listening to SP, but whenever I revisit their albums, every other week or so, I am almost always impressed. Even though I listen to other bands much more frequently, I don't think I'll ever be as obsessed over another band as I once was with the Pumpkins. No other band will be as important to me personally. And I think I will always enjoy (most of) their music, at least for nostalgia's sake. If I ever stop calling them my favorite band, the title won't go to another band. I just won't ever identify any band as my favorite.

you can listen to the entire 22 min live transmission recording. even if you don't listen to them anymore, if you can get through that..... wel.... then..... there ya go.

I barely listen to the Pumpkins these days, but they're still somehow my favorite band of all time.

I think the reason I barely listen to them is because I've practically memorized the fucking albums and can recall them in their entirety with the mere thought of them, I've played them so many times.

This pretty much sums up my feelings. They've affected my life in huge, huge ways (and no I'm not being emo. I've had some of the most amazing experiences of my life and I've got the SP and my best friend to thank for them, indirectly :B Anyway.)

That and they're always the only posters I hang on my walls and I *always* bring the CDs with me on long car trips. I guess I invested so much energy in them as a younger person that I have a uh...bond...with the band beyond the music. It's just been a part of my life, and a good part. I love them, love them, love them, always will, even if I'm not listening to them 24/7.
