ugh yeah, mushrooms are gross.

as for the magic ones, it's still legal to go pick the yourself but you run the obvious risk of picking poisonous ones, which is why they should be legal.

here here.

just cos some fanny can't handle a trip and subsequently jumps off a bridge/into an oncoming train WE should have our fun stopped. its gayness of the highest order.

but Im not one to complain :) (I love it when people say that after a complaint)

I love mushrooms!

the best way to cook them is to get fresh ones and sautee them in a small amount of butter and some red wine vinegar.

I put them in my alfredo and even put them on hamburgers sometimes :D

but yeah, raw, they are kinda gross D:

Hi There, Am Pam

I knew this thread would turn into discussion on magic mushrooms.

I like some types of mushrooms, although the standard "white button" mushrooms aren't very good usually.

I cook them the exact same way!!! But, I put them on my steaks & I like to keep them whole too.

I wish I knew how to look for the right magic ones to pick, wouldn't have a clue but I would be in the ER no doubt.

Hi There, Am Pam

I used to dislike them also, but after trying mushrooms that were done right, I enjoy them. I personally cut up a portabella mushroom into strips, and fry them up in a pan with a small amount of butter. Add some Adobo seasoning, and ZANG! Good stuff.

Are the type Kate is trying to get you to take magic? If so, then go for it! If you are still reluctant, send them my way.

Yeah. I just wanted to take them with someone i really, reaaally trusted who knew what they were doing, i.e. Irish Gone, and the person we'd be taking them with i definitely trust, he's taken care of the drunken both of us many times, i just don't know how often he's taken mushrooms, who he gets them from, etc. SIGH.

Kelly Kapowski
08-08-2005, 09:42 PM
Also, Irish Gone told me that he didn't know if i should take them because i have a very sensitive stomache, and they can do a number on your stomache or something?

I used them for the first time, and prefer to use them, and like substances, alone. The need to use hallucinogens with other "safe" people around is one of those myths that sticks in my craw. Real buckaroos can handle their drugs! Others are useful really only for the sometimes fun surreal exchanges, as in "You know, there's a crab crawling beneath your kitchen floor," "Don't worry, it's a tidal estuary."

All depends on the person. Someone unexperienced with altered states might paniac as reality starts to seemingly change. If you are prepped, you understand the changes. Otherwise, it might be uncomfortable. Having someone else around is helpful to many people so they can keep their focus.

Yes. That one is a very good movie. I remember watching it for the first time when I was about 11, with my dad, who insisted I'd love it, despite my then-skepticism at the prospect of viewing something so ancient.

Near where I used to live, in bumfuck rural Southborough, there was a small movie theater called the Ruth Gordon Theater!

My mushroom story is too long and I can;t write at the moment. Basically I gave about 3-4 caps and some stems to a friend once - a long time ago. This was a kid who could eat strips of acid and still partake in a lucid conversation with friends and relatives (we were always that way, you see) and so anyway - he flipped out and thought that I was a devil and that I was trying to possess him. He saw God in the walls and saw my mother - ah, my poor mother - as an alien being who was here to destroy the world... In teh end it took 5 full-bodied male police officers to restrain and arrest him. He was an innocent beautiful boy. I corrupted him.

i don't remember writing THAT, ted.

now i remember asking you a while ago about Harold and Maude; i'm pretty sure it's my fav movie ever. Maybe, just MAYBE.

My mom said that in real life, Ruth Gordon was actually very similar to her Maude character, according to MUM anyway.

I think i know a homeless kid who used to live in Southborough. He and Kate are in love.

I watched that movie once when I was 11 and then again when I was 18 or so. I thought it was funny that they got high together - something that completely escaped me at 11. My favorite part is when Harold sees the psychologist who speaks of Maude's sagging breasts. Hey - was that movie filmed in Big Sur?

1. Homelessness is no doubt preferable to residing in Southborough.

2. It was filmed south of San Francisco, still on the peninsula, for the most part - or at the very least, that's where the cemetery they used was. I have been to that cemetery.

3. I would not mind driving a hearse.

I like the idea of wearing a dark suit and talking in a grave voice, but yes, unattractive corpses would be a pain to deal with.

I should qualify that worse by giving an equal place to when I believed I was my ego and was hovering several feet above my real-world body. But that was "bad" because I'd been nearly crippled with fear ever since watching my face turn into a jaguar's in the bathroom mirror some minutes before. BUT, damn it, I gutted it out, and eventually it became fun. BECAUSE I'M A REAL BUCKAROO. I ALSO SOMETIMES DRINK GINGER ALE STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOTTLE.

I really liked those old Schweppes commericals with John Cleese, and also their raspberry ginger ale, which I don't seem to be able to find any longer.

I have the dubious pleasure of drug-free hallucinations myself: aural ones, as mentioned in a recent thread, I've always had, and I also see trails on everything, especially when waking up or going to sleep (which I understand is a normal result of having used hallucinogens with any frequency).

ALSO - straight out of the TWO LITER BOTTLE? Because that's how the buckaroo does it.

my hallucinations are just the results of me being a really paranoid person at times, and this really heightens at night and i just go crazy in this apartment and see things and hear things that just make me almost black out :D But this is really only when i'm having wicked anxiety and/or i'm super tired.
