yeah, they've been drilling on my 70 acres for about 3 years now. i get between $7k and 9k a month depending on the amount they produce. i also have to keep up on the fencing along the acreage and the gates/roads into the site. more stuff happens to a fence in the middle of nowhere than i ever imagined. the roads wash out a lot and i have to have them rocked again. i don't do it all the time, but more often than i'd like to. it costs about $2k to rock a mile long road. fixing the fence is cheap though, mexicans work for nothing.

cause when i didn't work, i had nothing to do, i didn't know anyone and i just hated life. i make good money at my job but it's mostly for socializing. i was also gaining weight back and i'm definitely not cool with that. my family always bitched when i didn't work too and said the oil will run dry eventually and i'll have no reasonable work experience and no one will hire me.

add-on: the job i have now is the hardest job i've had. in the past 2 years, i've had jobs where i do nothing except watch room full of servers and the one i'm starting soon is watching a well and logging the results of oil production and some other minor things. that's a 5min task, once an hour. i don't think it's really working.
