I just saw fearless freaks, Wayne is effing cool. I'm hoping one day God will let me trade one of my uncles in for him.

Yeah he's cool. He's pretty mouthy though (like about Beck, and he said Brian Wilson acted 'retarded' in an interview Wayne conducted).

what did he say about Beck? And Brian Wilson does act really strange...kinda like Ozzy Osbourne actually in that his speech is slurred and that he sometimes says really stupid things. He could still get it together to do "Smile" though.

When The Flaming Lips supported Beck on his US tour last year, they expected him to be as chilled as his records suggest. But 'Beck had issues... don't print anything bad - actually, I don't care'. He laughs. 'I just don't get it when the slightest thing goes wrong before a gig and the artist is, like, fuck this.'

It must have been disappointing to discover that Beck was a bit... prissy? 'Honey, it was totally disappointing. It's a total devastation to know that he's not a relaxed Californian stoner. When you hear his songs, you think he must really have some tender feelings, but then you find out it's a made-up thing.'
---
I don't think he meant any harm, but it kinda implied Beck is fake.

hmmm yeah that's sad. I mean I never thought Beck was a stoner. He makes it sound easy to do what he does but I know it's not, and I've read in articles that he is a workoholic, super organized, and a perfectionist. Maybe that just didn't mest with the Lips. Then again he is a Scientologist now so I'm starting to worry about him.

Beck's last album was pretty lame.

I agree. I like Guero even if it's not my favorite

I don't really like reading interviews with Brian Wilson. As a person, he just seems so hard to like. He does come across as being really stupid and arrogant.

I bought the Fearless Freaks DVD, and I thought it was great. The whole heroin scene was really sad, though.
