Yeah, it was very interesting...did a bit of Russian history for my a'levels aswell...I seem to be drawn towards russian history alot...must be the eastern european blood in me...I most definately want to visit at some point...travel across on the train...plus, russian girls are hot!...Well, living in russa, they're probably cold...but you know what I mean!

nah, I don't think so....I think the stereotype of Russia for my generation is a bunch of heavy drinkers in a poor, run-down, broken up country. But I was pretty young when the Soviet Union broke up. Some older people who remember the power struggle/communist scare stuff between the U.S. and Soviet Union might feel different, but I think most younger people just feel sorry for Russians because we always hear things are really bad over there as far as poverty and their economy. I don't know how bad it actually is though.

Looks like the Britts got there first. At least the Russians asked for help this time. I may not have all the details straight, but I think last time one of their subs went down and the crew was trapped, they refused help from the US when we offered it--even though we were probably the only ones who could get there in time. The crew all died, I think. But I suppose that was a nuclear sub, and therefore contained more secrets the russians wanted to protect.

I am going by memory here, and I haven't bothered to substantiate any of these facts. Grain of salt, folks.

Yeah Ive heard something like that before. The morale is top notch in our navy, too. My cousin recently completed his full 22-year service in the Navy. Did you know they take gays now? They were banned up until a few years ago.
