what do i do!

my ear has been popping all the effin time lately and i have to sniff really hard and then it goes away for all of 5 seconds and then i am back to being all echoey in my head again and its driving me crazy! how can i fix this! what is wrong with me! etc guys!



also while i'm eating canteloupe (cantaloupe? whatev) and honeydew i was thinking. which one do you guys think is really the money melon? i used to like honeydew better but i think i am switchin teams!

The air pressure in the middle ear is usually the same as the air pressure outside of the body. The eustachian tube is a connection between the middle ear and the back of the nose and upper throat. Swallowing or yawning opens the eustachian tube and allows air to flow into or out of the middle ear, equalizing the air pressure on both sides of the eardrum. If the eustachian tube is blocked, the air pressure in the middle ear is different than the pressure on the outside of the eardrum, causing barotrauma.

Many people experience barotrauma at some time. Barotrauma commonly occurs with altitude changes, such as with flying, scuba diving, or driving in the mountains. If you have a congested nose from allergies, colds, or upper respiratory infection, barotrauma is more likely. Blockage of the eustachian tube could also be congenital or may occur because of swelling in the throat.

Sounds like you should yawn a whole lot or you have a cold/allergies and have to get some medicine for your congestion then it should be okay.

and I like cantaloupe better but watermelon rules all!

like molly, i always think melon looks yummy so i try and eat it and it's always gross. you would think i would have learned by now that i don't like melon, but the aesthetic goodness gets me every time.

I like to blend cantaloupe with a little sugar and just a drop or two of rose water. It's really nice in the summer. I also love watermelon and melon in general, I guess. Anyway, it's good that you eat fruit!

It's this commercial that shows a melon stand in the West Indies or something, and the melon-stand-owners complicate the process of selling melons by trying to emulate big business strategies etc. The customers are upset because they are confused and they "just want to buy a melon!"
