"By that standard, I won't be viable 'til after college!"
Sounds fair.
It is a small mercy that the anti-choice lobby excells at making itself look very, very stupid.

Is this shit supposed to be funny or something? This is the kind of lame-ass wank that gets served up in evangelical churches, and only the brainwashed people find it amusing.
EDIT: I also just found this:
"Click Here to Buy Umbert's Book: A Womb With a View. Makes a great gift for an expectant mother or any of your pro-life or maybe even your anti-life friends"
"Anti-life"! I love it!

I heard that sucker four years ago. Gets funnier every time I hear it.

Umbert? What the fuck.... I was going to link to a pic of the cartoon, the one on the front page about how kids aren't self-supporting until after college, but the whole webpage is one big gif! What the ass!
But really, it shows the mentality of some people. If your kid isn't self-sustaining until college, than it's probably your own fault as a parent, not completely the kids.
I don't understand how you could have a whole strip devoted to abortion. Damn, that must get old quick, like by the first one.

It's also worth noting that the single worst right-wing comic strip is Mallard Fillmore. My local paper carries it, and it's a disaster. Not because the politics are off, but just that it comes off as done by a no talent hack. The author will use the same exact topic, and same exact joke, 4 or 5 days in a row.
Check it out for yourself: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/fun/mallard.asp
The politics also come off as rather uninformed, just taking random pieces of information and using it to suit the author's position.

little something for the abortion and the "intelligent design" debater in us all!
I fuckin' hate Mallard Fillmore. but no newspaper comic will ever replace calvin and hobbes  I wish Bill Watterson would write that agan. Calvin and Hobbes was funnier in one strip than most strips are all year!
Also I hate that stupid Rex Morgan MD... DOES ANYONE PAY ATTENTION TO THE PLOT IN THAT PAPER FOSSIL????

The past few Mallard Filmores that I linked to aren't quite as bad as they used to be. This one I find to be fairly funny though:
PS. Calvin & Hobbes rules! Nice choice Barbara!

Holy shit, the description to Mallard Fillmore (the charector) is rather... I'll just let it speak for itself:
"Mallard thinks taxes are too high, educational standards are too low, and that the "radicals" of the '60s and '70s now set the establishment's politically correct media agenda. He's gonna shake 'em up a little."
There was some truth to that, perhaps, 10 years ago. Even then, the media's agenda seemed to be set by buisnesses moreso than radicals. Now it seems like you can't escape right-wing establishment controlling the media.

you should watch the documentary "Crumb" John, it's good, that guy was crazy and his comics are both funny, beautiful, and flat-out disturbing and weird

Wait, is Crumb about Calvin & Hobbes? I'd love to know more about Bill Watterson.
In some of the recent Mallard Fillmore strips, he JUST found out that Jon Stewart's book America put a fake Mallard Fillmore strip in. He went on for a few days, complaining about how Jon Stewart was intentionally trying to decieve people. Something tells me the author of Fillmore just doesn't understand what this "satire" thing is.

no no, I was on to another comic topic again without warning!... "Crumb" is about Robert Crumb who wrote "Fritz the Cat" and that was probably his most famous thing...but chances are you've seen his stuff somewhere before. He had some crazy crazy shit, like stuff that I'm surprised didn't get banned by right-wingers for being so offensive but I guess he was more or less underground. As far as I know, Bill Watterson retired and hasn't done anything new as far as comic strips  but if anyone else knows otherwise, I'm interested!
For Robert Crumb introductions though, go to

hmmm...looking further out of curiosity, apparently Bill Watterson is really reclusive and refuses public appearances and interviews or any other media attention. It's too bad, he was really talented and I wish he felt like he could still write without being intruded upon.

I watched something about him in my abnormal psychology class. Isn't he and his two brothers schizophric. He's like the only one alive? I don't remember. I remember it being pretty weird stuff.

I dunno if they're schizophrenic...he had one brother they talked to quite a bit in the documentary... his brother seemed really strange, like maybe depressed or having mental problems. I don't know if his brothers are alive still or not, from what I've heard R. Crumb is still alive and living out of the spotlight in Europe somewhere. The documentary and everything Crumb was into is pretty weird stuff, but it's one of the better stories of an artist I've seen.
And if weird sexual art isn't enough, "Crumb" was also produced by David Lynch...who I know has a few fans on blamo ;)

Crumb was actually a disturbing film in that his family is just as talented as Robert himself, it's just that they have so many different personal demons that restricts them.
Didn't like it when I saw it... I'll see it again one day.
