I think if/when the pumpkins get back together they have to continue with the whole machina concept. It became a part of the band and i dont think they should give up on it. Also, does anyone think that them breaking up, zwan forming, billy going solo, then the pumpkins reunting fits the machiona story in any way? ive thought a lot about that.

365 songs (http://spfc.org/songs-releases/song.html?song_type=1&song_display=), 365 days in a year. Coincidence? More like the missing part of the Machina Mystery!

I didn't like the whole Machina concept(after a while anyway). The whole thing of everyone wearing big black leather dresses just didn't do it for me.

What was the point of the Machina concept? No serious question, what was teh answer to it all? Seemed like needless tripe to me, I never really followed it to its conclusion.

I enjoyed the Machina concept quite a bit. I thought that the chapters of the story were interesting to read, and very cool. However...the whole concept with Machina was the band breaking up. That was really all there was to it.

And as for the post about the Zwan, TheFutureEmbrace, and the SP reunion all fitting into the Machina concept, that is absolutely stupid, and if you believe that for one second, then you should be drug out into the street and shot. Billy Corgan is a smart guy, but he is not an all knowing deity.

I think the Machina concept was not at all about breaking up a band. It was rather about "starting" a band and being a part of it to fight against all the careless ingrates in this world, but ultimately i think it's about Love.

Whenever i look at the last plate in the book though, i always get the impression that it is trying to convey the idea of someone (Glass, in this case) passing on a torch.

In any case, i don't think that it has to do with any one thing in particular- but it's underlying message of hope refutes any kind of focus on the band's disintegration.

But in response to the orignal topic, no, i assure you all of this is not a part of some wild and crazy story Billy has been scheming up and exacting on a day-by-day basis.

I mean, have you really thought this through as much as you say you have? I mean, imagine: "Okay, today makes exactly 1,000 days since the Pumpkins split up! Time to blame James and set in motion a long series of events inevitably leading to the glorious ressurection!!!"

Come now, Billy has more important things to do with his time than devise ways to play mind games with everyone in the entire world. He's just a rockstar, he's not a super-villain.

Besides, as he told me a few months back: "I've said all i want to say about June. I've no more to say on the matter."

I hope that clears things up for you.
