Anyone else see it? What did you think?
I'm torn. It really didn't bring anything new to it's genre, whatever that genre is--some plot aspects were shamelessly and obviously borrowed from other movies. The action sequences were too fucking long (maybe it's cos I'm not a testosterone-pumping male).
But then, it was also incredibly affecting and horrifying. I didn't have any preconcieved notions or information about the movie before going in the theater, so I was able to take it as it is, I hope. Despite its cheesiness (the "bad guy" stands out) at some parts, I found it was an interesting take on "what could happen." It was inspiring in the sense of appreciating nature and life, and the freedom to appreciate these things.
This could have easily been a bomber, though, if it weren't for the leads. And what the hell was with that Picasso?
