This song Roll It Over is actually not half bad. Could it be that Oasis is...good? Just quite repetitive and stuck in the key of G most days?

Are you fucking serious? Oasis haven't done anything good since What's the story way back in '95, and even then half of it was commercial shite.

does anyone else think that Part of the Queue kinda sounds like "Golden Brown" with more electric instruments? I like it a lot, my favorite on the album, but I still think it copied a lot from that song.

I know it's not cool to admit liking them, but I like Oasis....Got into them 10 years ago...lost a bit of interest during BHN and SOTSOG, but Heathen Chemistry was ok...and DBTT is a top pop-rock album and the best thing they've done for a while!....So they are not as experimental as Radiohead...who cares. They write good songs that you can sing along to...which is no crime and nothing to be ashamed of!!!

I find the strokes and kasabian and the kings of leon much more distasteful.

Has anyone seen Oasis on their current tour? I haven't had chance to go see them...but I've heard they've been on top form...and they've doen america without falling out...

It is when its so bland, dull and formulaic whilst still claiming to be the best band in the world. Jet do that whole thing much better.

Fucking neanderthal idiots.

why put two posts on a thread about a band you obviously dont like? you retard, as if the thread title "Oasis" wasnt a big enough clue people would talk about Oasis here.

if pizzachunks made music it would probably sound like a cross between Rush, Queensryche and the Mars Volta. "STUCK IN THE KEY OF G?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I WRITE MUSIC THAT CHANGES KEY 4309834.4234 TIMES IN 9^2 NANOBARS!!! DON'T FORGET THE WACKY TIME SIGNATURES TOO!!!!!!!!!"

fuck you. I fucking hate oasis, but Noel Gallagher is Chris Morris compared to you. you little shit.

Seriously? Where do you get this whole 'lets appreciate Jet' thing from? They're rubbish macho rock, trendy NME darling band, Iggy Pop, Oasis, AC/DC stealing cunts. Oasis were ok at one point at least, Jet are just piss poor.

I dont. Youre making it up. You cannot be seriously claiming Jet steal from Oasis?

Jet = formulaic with great tunes, Oasis= formulaic with piss awful tunes. Thats how it goes.

Fair enough, we'll never agree on this like we'll never agree on most things. But I'm particularly shocked in this instance because literally anyone i've spoken to about Jet who's opinion I appreciate agrees that they're one of the worst bands out today. How you see otherwise Danny baffles me.

Well then you need to be more open-minded in whos opinion you appreciate. Maybe this is where your problem lies.

Ok Danny, so when I'm being more open minded I guess I should pay attention to rednecks in Texas and George Bush? Sorry, some opinions simply aren't worth appreciating.

And anyway, it's not like we get together to bitch about Jet. It's just generally we all agree that it's nigh on lunacy to enjoy their music.

If that is so then why are they so infamous in Britain? I think they're cunts personally, but that doesn't mean they don't have personality.

Pretentious Bread: Of course Danny is the be all and end all to everything music-wise, he chose not to make it in the music industry dont ya know! lol.

With his fine blend of Liverpudlian middle-class angst filled emo-rock I imagine (he has failed to elaborate on what he's played despite numerous queries).

I'm jumping in late, and the thread has predictably jumped on the 'Danny versus world' bandwagon, but here's my thoughts:

Lyla - Shit shit shit. Boring, wank, insipid, insert other words.

The importance of being idle - I kinda like it. Nothing ground-breaking, but I personally think it's a good tune with reasonably good lyrics in places. The video I do like a lot, probably because of Rhys Ifans' (sp?) charisma.

In general, I've never liked Oasis much, they tend to be far too predictable and I'm not a fan of the vocals much. They have a few classics of course, but on average, so-so.

Well now it's more of a completist thing...because I used to really like them 94-96 so bought everything, so I've kinda just got into the habit of buying them to complete my collection...but yes, the b-sides are really good...the SOTSOG b-sides are better than anything on the album!
