I probably won't go (may do, but travelling is an issue on a work night)...but what are they like?

I might see the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex in Belgium at a festival next month. The Arcade Fire and Coheed & Cambria will be playing there to, so I'm really aching to go. Just need to check on my exam days.

By the way, is Carling a really good beer? My British friend keeps going on about how great it is.

Arcade Fire...cool, I was hoping they would be at Glastonbury, but they weren't!

Carling is disgusting...poor excuse for a lager...it's basically just a load of chemicals thrown together...tasteless gassy water!...Nobody should drink it!

Yeah, I'm gonna go to th Manchester show. And Carling isn't that bad!!! It's cheap and does the job!

Who's your friend who says it's good? Trust me, it is absolutely and quantifiably the worst lager in existence. It's so far removed from any other lager in terms of quality it's laughable. Shoot your friend. The only people I know who like it are louts, and everyone I know whom I respect for other reasons agrees that it's sputum in a glass.

Nothing special, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Fraser, Stella is swill...but I don't like many lagers anyway...prefer my 'old man' independent ales anyway...:-D

I'm an ale/bitter man too, but I do like Stella a lot if I'm having a lager.

Does anyone know why Chamberlin seems to frequently become Chamberlain when people write it?

I don't know the difference between ale and lager. I suppose they're both beer? Ok then! :D

Ale-Beer fermented by top-fermenting yeasts at temps. of 55-70 degrees F. Usually has a higher hop content than lager.

Lager-Beer fermented by bottom-fermenting yeast at temps. below 50 degrees F.

Lager-Beer fermented by bottom-fermenting yeast at temps. below 50 degrees F. So if I get this correctly:

ale = beer of high fermenting

lager = beer of low fermenting

In that case I think I like both. Depending on the beer of course.

Oops, when I said ales I was referring the warm squalid beers that some call "real ales" in England.

PS "i" is back, you can change your ignore list again.

PPS Thanks Aaron.
