Wow-i've got to say, those songs are terrible.

They (especially the second one) remind me of that film from the 80's where this girl becomes a witch, and during one point she puts a spell on her friend. Once she does, her friend starts to rap to one of the "cool" Jocks from around the block.

The both of them start to dance and rap to each other. I'm not too crazy about the first one but there are 2 other ones that they had released a few weeks ago that were better. The other 3 aren't on the new album.

Yeah, I think 311 is more of a suburban teen stoner band than a frat band.

I'd kill myself if I had to listen to that stoned!

I'd kill myself if I had to listen to it sober.

Well, I could probably rationalize it more if I were sober. I don't know. But yeah... that was bad (although the site had a really weird dancing Gary Coleman figure - if I knew how to save moving images, I'd attach it.)

Here he is being still:

Ah - he's moving!

I didn't even examine the site - I'm judging on past intolerable radio evidence.

I had the most unfortunate experience of seeing 311 live once. It was as insipid and soporific a time as you might imagine.

Their only acceptable aspect is that I remember listening to them on the radio in, like, 1997 or so, when I was still young and dumb enough to believe that my life might one day contain meaning and/or be fulfilling; a certain nostalgic twinge is drawn.

In other words, Ted, the existential void that 311 created in you has been supplanted by Bryan Adams? A mostly lateral move, but I discern forward motion.

The void has always existed, sir, and always shall: the void is my ancestor, my contemporary, and my descendant. But there was an era, a youthful era, in which exuberance blotted reason and reality, and the void seemed possible to bridge; let us say that a 311 song played on the portable stereo of consciousness as an internal engineer sketched out a blueprint.

Bryan Adams has nothing to do with this. Bryan Adams I like because he has some catchy fucking songs.

It cuts like a knife, Joe, but it feels so right.

I never cared much for 311. However, I still like Sublime and know all the words to most of their songs  which makes me totally not indie cool at all...but I could give a flying fuck :D you're still a sweetie. Track down a band called The Insidious Rays for some good new stuff, they're an east-coast band.

311 is by far one of the worst bands to come out of the 90s.

sorry excuse for talent.

311 and Sublime BOTH suck entirely. Neither of them has contributed one iota of good music to the world.
