Because He's a really angst filled angry guy still, as you can still see from such shredding classics as "To Love Somebody" and "Heartsongs".

fred durst should write all the lyrics for the new album. I want Al Gore's wife as a bassist, Corgan on drums and Philip Glass on Marimba and arranged piano.

Isn't it somewhat feasible that a human being can be angsty and angry one minute, then sentimental and amorous the next? I don't think anyone walks around pissed off all the time.

Billy talks about all this "nu-metal bullshit" or something, and yet...didn't he have quite alot to do with Breaking Benjamin's album AND Taproots album?

Maybe that "in case of fire BREAK the glass" song is reference to the Machina mystery?

Well, in regards to Breaking Benjamin..it was completely and painfully obvious that Billy Corgan wrote that song, "Rain." And it really wasn't a bad song.

I have no idea, We Are Not Along in Here or something like that...just download Rain by Breaking Benjamin and listen to it and think about how Billy Corgan wrote it and say "yeah..it's obvious that he wrote this. not bad," and that will be that.

If the pumpkins, in whatever shape or form, will make another album, I would like it if it was extremely aggressive. An album filled with Tales of a Scorched Earth's, XYU's, Silverfuck's and zero's would be heavily appreciated. It should be monstrously complex, with the power and the absurdly tightnes of Strapping Young Lad and Meshugga, but without the deep throat screaming. It should have the feel of The Aeroplane Flies High throughout the whole album.

If it does not reach these standards I won't buy it.

yes! with a wall of sound made by 5 mellotrones and james iha chanting: "the rapist played second violin!" over and over again until it builds up to a diabolic inferno around the 45 minute mark where both Corgan and Iha screams "redemption!" with layers and layers of eccho.

Fuck....I almost got inspired to compose now.

breaking benjamin has a few good songs on their latest album. But i would say that most of the albums songs sound identical, except for "forget it" and "Rain" which BC helped to make. They are my 2 fav on the album including the first single "so cold". Forget it should have been a single.

Dude this thread is ooold, odd to see some opinions before there even was any word on the new album. I think it's metal to a very small degree - Tarantula, 7 shades, BTL, that just about wraps it...Doomsday clock - new-metal...sadly :) I'm outta here.

Billy Corgan and Jon Davis and Robert Smith UNPLUGGED!

anyone else see Robert Smith with Korn and think it was the saddest thing ever. Man I love Korn's first album, but Korn unplugged is just ludicrously bad...as is most of Korn's more recent work.

"So Cold" and "Forget It" were ok, but it was all downhill from there.

I just went on an old-thread-finding spree myself. The oldest I found was in like 2005 though....it's nice to go back and see what was being said, and to remember all those crazy characters from back then. It's coo coo.

I'd be into, I think, something that sounds like The Future Embrace - which is a much more interesting record than I thought it was when released - but with regular old rock instruments. And a live show that doesn't fucking blow.

James Yee-haw
12-03-2007, 12:33 AM
future embrace live show was awesome. That fucking tripped out screen blew my mind into the milky way...of course the fine Alabama liquid snake probably contributed to that.

Kinbote
12-04-2007, 02:48 AM
The light show was fancy nonsense, the songs were regurgitations of their album versions, except with bored people apparently performing along to them. I say apparently, of course, because the sound was so awful that all the songs were piles of undifferentiated white noise over which a snippet of vocal or squiggle of guitar could sometimes be made out.
