I noticed that. She does it a lot, and I thought it was just one of those damned acting 'ticks' or what have you. It was one of only a few errors in the Batman movie that irked me. That, and her whole speech in the car after Bale left the courtroom, like she was reading from cue cards.

I actually cut her some slack when she was in Wonder Boys because I really liked and respected that movie (I like Tobey McGuire then too). Heck I even thought she was kind of cute cos she was what - 19? But, Cruise aside, I really thought she was TERRIBLE in Batman. I thought I could ignore it, but no she was just bad.

I have heard that, but I have also heard that she'd be back, so I'm not sure. I think that she should be brought back for the sole purpose of having The Joker kill her. It would be a great way of having the Batman/Joker feud become very personal very quickly, and if they're going to base the new movie partly off of "The Killing Joke" graphic novel, then The Joker has to shoot SOMEONE.
