Well, I'm just a 20 year old kid studying architecture here at Portland State. I'm from Oregon, but never spent much time in Portland. Magic gardens are by far my favoritest places on earth, so I think that's great that Portland has one...even if I don't know what it is. My favorite board game is Uncle Wiggly's, I've been writing a lot of music lately, and one of my favorite things to do is get wasted and stalk the street sweeper in the middle of the night....Now, about that barbecue..:-D

cheap and delicious sushi: Sushi Takahashi @ NW Broadway and Burnside.
kara and mel are totally all over that place already...my mission though is to take people to places they haven't gone before because then they casn be all like "oohhh aaahhhh, yes!" and then they can go back to their old haunts....all i ask is that peeps try new fun places from time to time..i myself have never been to sushi takahashi cos it was always scary to me cos it was right next to BK...but i think i'm ready to check it out...konnichiwa sushi takahashi, genki?
also what have you been up to mister?
www.africanfilmfestival.org
yo yo yo my pdx sisters and brothers(mamas and papas, uncles, cousins, etc) incase you had not yet heard currently in this fine city we are having The 15th Annual Cascade Festival of African Films....the above link should hook you up with all the titles and dates of what is happening...
I strongly reccomend at leastchecking one of the movies out, they are FREE (donations accepted-100% goes back to PCC),good, and youknow..movies!
tonight at Pcc CAscade the film Dole(money) is showing at 7:30,it looks good so if you need osmething to do go see it,i might go but i'm undecided right now..however i am for sure going to see probbaly the rest of the festival so if anyone wants to go with me just give a holler.

also what have you been up to mister? agreed. however, when it comes to sushi its a simple function: p(f)i
p, being price, and i being income. if you want to talk thai, pizza, etc, im game for ooohs, ahhhs, and yes's.
im stuck outside of salem for educational purposes (murder techniques, espionage, and the like)...but, i will be in town next week.
but hama is damn cheap boyee so it's all groovy
i'd be down for a real live meeting  over a year in the making! bring it,buddy. :D when will oyu be here? tuesday night i am supe rbusy but ifn you are around wednesday looks like there migt be sushi happening...or if you are here some other day then i'm sure pizza or whatnot can be arranged(i ate pizza three times this week so sushi or thai or other things are a lil more tempting at the moment..)

just saying they let people like me hang out there, so its obviously lo-class(kidding, its pretty cool they have a statue called the "jackass" my friend threatend to steal so they hid it):)
seeing as how this isn't India and i'm not a Brahmin i'll overlook your "lo-class"ness :D

I still cannot believe how inexpensive those apartments are (relative to New York market rates). What is the job market like in Portland, anyway?
ay yi yi senor rivera.el trabajo aqui es malo..pero...it depends on what you are willing to do..you can peruse jobs on craigslist...but it can be pretty difficult still to fond work...but not impossible..the smart thing is to do what melinda did and get a job first before moving here. i know people who have moved here with nothing lined up and they wound up moving away shortly after cos they were unable to find a job that suited them..but they have returned and may soon actually have a job...so yeah rents are totally cheaper than new york..but we don't have high crime, major pollution or an ungodly amounto fpeopel crushed into a small city..oh wait those are good things :D seriously though, manhattan vs.portland? i'm sure for nightlife and diversity nyc will win out evry time but for comfortable living and cheap rent and stuff i think portland ahs the advantage..now here's the thing: i've never been to nyc and you've never been to portland...so we may never know how to truly compare the two...

the job market is not glistening, ripe with opportunity and flush with dollar bills. . . .but its aight. certainly recovering from the last couple of years.
ex. my friend is constantly bitching about not having a job. . .but i dont think hes hitting it like he needs to.
another of my friends was looking for this cafe that had advertised a job and went in another cafe to ask directions and the guy was like, "oh are you looking for a job? do you want this one?"
soooooooooooo. . . . .yes, there are jobs. i guess theyre just well hidden. however, you may be in luck. . . .theres definitely a shortage of HAWT tu-tu'ed houseboys.
:D

hey danny you can take over tyler's new job at a law office when we move away. benefits, competitive wages, etc. and good hours too!
hollah hollah sweet addy was in the house tonight...and by house i mean sushi restaruant, natch. :) tyler, melinda, kara, anne, natalie, lisa, and moi were all eating the sushi along with kirk(who technically is on the board but as he only posted like three times he's not really) and erin, who is a girl in my history class. so it was pretty groovy,yo.
there was a sushi train!! and as i am a daycare worker i just unconciously started making train noises...i'm so programmed for working with kids...
the sushi was pretty good, kara's reccomendation of the tempura tai was the best one! :) unagi was also pretty good. i tried the octupus dumpling, which i have been curiou sbaout since reading that it existed, and it was interesting..squishy AND chewy!
afterwards the band broke up and headed our seperate ways..kirk and i went and got dessert at pix(yumyumyum)and we dropped erin off on 39th and division. at pix i had "the aphrodite" and kirk had the opera house and we split a chimay red. the treats were scrumptious! if nay of the p-towners haven't been to pix yet- you should go!! it's not cheap but it's tasty. and you deserve a lil extravagent dessert from time to time.
cheers to meeting new peeps and to having loved ones move into town!

We all went to ladeeeez night at George's Tavern or whatever it's called and I played "Ace of Spades" on the jukebox and worshipped at the altar of Erin Morrissey... good times...
Yo, Combat, it was nice meeting you - and very brave of you to try the octopus balls.
hi natalie! you should go to pix! it's delish!!! :D
