So I went to an Elliott Smith concert in Orlando Florida at the Sapphire Supper Club on 3/15/99. After the show I was waiting to talk to Elliott and this nice women came up to me and gave me one of the posters she made for the show. It wasn't till after I got home that I realized that she gave me her personal copy and not a blank one. So this beautiful poster is incribed by Elliott. "To <women's name>. Thanks for the pretty poster Elliott Smith" I've never been able to track her down and now that is Elliott is gone, I think it would be really nice for her to get her Poster Back signed by Elliott. I've done extensive searches on the internet and have come up with nothing. Does anyone know who Allison is who made this poster? Pretty sure she lives in Orlando. Please E-mail me if you can help.
Thanks,
Kurt

i have that poster! framed it and gave it to my sis as a x-mas present one year.

by the way - you are one good egg. there was a certain concertgoer out there who was not as nice as you. after 5 years, i'm still waiting for my picture with jackson browne, with jackson starting to yell at me for sneaking backstage -

the only thing i could think of is...going to switchboard.com, and doing a search for all the allisons in the area...maybe not the entire orlando area..start with the zipcode of where the show was...and start making some calls...crossing name after name off the list till maybe you find her

That's really sweet.
Was this poster to advertise the show? Maybe contacting the venue would help? Or E's management?

and it's awesome that you want to get this poster back to her... but she did give it to you... you should just cherish it!

Yeah, she did give it to me but I'm pretty sure she wanted to give me a blank one not one that Elliott personaly signed for her. I remember she had two posters in her hand.

try contacting the venue. perhaps she designs posters frequently. it's a really great thing you're doing.

This was a really cool thing Kurttt and I wanted to bump this so that I could find out how you were getting along with it, or to tell you not to give up!!

gahhhh I wish there was something I could do to help the 'cause, I've seen that poster on Ebay and I love it! Maybe you could have Charlie help you? I'm not sure, perhaps there's a way you could get ahold of the venue and see if they have her on record as designing and distributing posters (if the idea hasn't already been brought up) gahhh anything that can be done let us know!

does it say anywhere what company actually printed the poster? they would verymaybeprobably know who she is, especially if she's one who designs posters frequently, people tend to work with the same printers again and again...

i haven't seen the poster but i've seen this thread before and i just gotta say... you're a good egg for trying so hard to do this. if only everyone on earth was as nice as you... :)
