any views on this piece of audiovisual? I thought it was great but I can see how it's extremely fucking boring, I wouldn't inflict it on anyone else. My housemate asked me if he could borrow it and I told him that it would probably hold the attention of about three people, and I'm two of them.

I've not bought it yet, I'm too poor, it's on my list though.

I can library it if you want?

that would be awesome... how?

Erm, through the post maybe? Or I could leave it in the toilets in Star. Whatever you think...it would be fun if we did it like a drugs drop, I could put it in a tree or something and then you could come along and take it out. I want to do that! That would be ace.

My friend bought me Spend an Evening with Saddle Creek for my birthday. It was a really cool DVD. Have you guys seen it?

Yes, I love it. My favorite part is in the extras - the video of Conor playing When The Curious Girl Realizes She Is Under Glass.
"You can't just be Billy Joel right away."

Love it. Got it a few years ago and we have watched it many times. I agree with Alyssa - my favourite bit is the Conor piano concert in the extras.

They have it at some music stores. Ebay.
OR the beautiful Saddle Creek store.

My debit card is for school only (art school is expensive, man), and there are no record stores near by... but someday I'm sure I'll get it!

I know how that goes. It's good, though. One of your friends should get it for you as a present.

Yes. Tell people you want it as a present. That's how I got it. Or, save up your pennies and then you can buy it. I used to do that when I was a wee child....

I remember being angry because I pre ordered it and then they had it at Urban Outfitters before I got it in the mail. :( I only watched it once though. It's that kind of deal. Then I guess most documentaries are.

the best extra is the hilarious good life live clip.

Yeah, When the Curious Girl was hilarious. I kept thinking "You can do it. There you go, you got it." And then he finishes it even after stopping completely. What a trooper. And a bad piano player. Stick to Lover, Conor.

I have seen it. It was really cool to see all the early footage and photos and hear all about the birth of Saddle Creek, but I have to admit, I found it incredibly boring, which is saying a lot, because obviously I find the material interesting.

The extras are fantastic.

So I saw this, and I really loved it. It's so interesting to see how it all started and how it progressed... I honestly wish they went into more detail regarding the recording of certain records. And especially the Good Life.

I got it one christmas and I have to say I found it quite boring... which was a shame.
Conor looks good in it though! :flirt:
I don't know if I got round to the extras, maybe I'll check them out.

See, I have this weird thing: I told myself I'm not allowed to watch Spend an Evening with Saddle Creek until I, myself, lead the endearing, love-filled life I crave most. Otherwise it will just bum me out that they are having all the fun and my life is difficult. [Stupid Nebraskans, living the good life!!]

It's getting pretty close, though. So probably at 22 or 23, I can watch it. Then I will comment.

I came across this while scouring youtube for some footage from the 3/18 show (which I still haven't found) so I thought I'd post it here for those of you who haven't seen it / haven't seen it in a while.
