Manchester Orchestra - Live At Park Ave. Bootleg
http://www.mediafire.com/?wotnyznymyg
I don't know how many of you know or care, but Manchester Orchestra just released a seven song live, acoustic EP that was recorded at the record store Park Ave. I, having missed the show, was eager to hear this, so a week or so after they played, I searched youtube for all of the songs, and I also compiled a seven song album out of bootleg tracks. The only real differences are that these songs lower quality than the actual EP, and it is missing the song Tony The Tiger. However, it does have a cover of the song The Bathroom Is A Creepy Place For Pictures Of Your Friends, which I believe is by the band Twothirtyeight, and does not appear on the actual EP.

Joan of Arc/Bundini Brown - Split
http://sixgunlover.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/ahm-products-611.jpg
The 2nd edition of the puppet series we started a couple of years ago. This one features Chicagoans Joan of Arc and Bundini Brown. JOA offer 5 tracks consisting of solid-catchy rhythms, a trip hop track, and a speech from our leader who undoes the evil doers. Bundini (Bundy K. Brown) covers the Mission Of Burma song ‘All World Cowboy Romance’. His gentle fingers and looping make this cover interesting and soft. Bundy is most known for his work in Tortoise and Directions In Music.

Jason Boesel - Hustlers Son (2010)
The first solo album from Jason Boesel -- drummer extraordinaire for the likes of Rilo Kiley, Bright Eyes, and Conor Oberst’s Mystic Valley Band -- finds the sideman hanging up his drumsticks, picking up the guitar, and strumming his way through 11 tracks of casual, walking-speed Americana. It’s an L.A. record through and through, influenced by California’s country-rock tradition and featuring cameos by SoCal figures like Blake Sennett, Jonathan Wilson, and longtime Tom Petty keyboardist Benmont Tench. Boesel established his songwriting credentials one year before this album’s release, when a pair of his own compositions appeared on the Mystic Valley Band’s Outer South. He’s still new to the frontman game, though, and he plays the role casually, crooning his songs in a straightforward baritone that rarely overwhelms. It may be tempting to compare these songs to those by Boesel’s former bandmates -- he doesn’t prize the pop hook as highly as Rilo Kiley, for example, and his lyrics lack Bright Eyes’ studied punch -- but Hustler’s Son does exactly what it sets out to do, which is establish a mood and keep those dusky vibes burning for 45 minutes. -- AMG (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:hifoxz9sldae)

The Tallest Man on Earth - The Wild Hunt [2010]
mp3 320kbps | 87MB
When fans lined up to see the sold-out Bon Iver performances at New York City's Town Hall in late 2008, few of them went with any expectations of the opening act. But the audience that night, and on every other night of Bon Iver's tour that December, were introduced to something special, something unforgettable: The Tallest Man on Earth. This was the first of several tours for the Tallest Man on Earth (aka Kristian Matsson), with obsessive crowds growing each step of the way.
Earlier in the year, The Tallest Man on Earth had released one of 2008's most powerful records, one that Pitchfork praised, calling Matsson "a natural-born folksinger, earnest, clever, and comforting". "Shallow Grave" could not have been more simple, just Matsson's commanding vocals with an acoustic guitar or banjo, recorded at his home in Dalarna, Sweden. Although the album was released on the Swedish label Gravitation without the help of widespread distribution, the story of The Tallest Man on Earth spread far and wide through word of mouth.
It is impossible to discuss The Tallest Man on Earth's music without acknowledging Bob Dylan. The seemingly effortlessness, the melodic sensibility and the deft lyricism all recall Dylan's early years. But when you witness the Tallest Man on Earth perform live, you are watching a man possessed. The energy pours out with every word. Full of intensity and raw emotion, he paces the stage, bringing the audience into the palm of his hand, completely lost in his songs.
This brings us to the reason you are reading this. With unbridled excitement, we bring you The Tallest Man on Earth's second LP, "The Wild Hunt". It is all here: The words. The voice. The melodies. Ten perfect songs. "The Wild Hunt" picks up where "Shallow Grave" left off, with Matsson doing what he does best. It is unmistakably The Tallest Man on Earth, from the urgent strums of "You're Going Back" and the sweet melodies of "Love Is All", to the playful lyricism of live favorite "King Of Spain" and the subtle hook on "Burden Of Tomorrow". "The Wild Hunt" isn't just another folk album; this is acoustic rock 'n' roll from a man with a story to tell.

Clem Snide - The Meat of Life (2010)
mp3 VBR~266kbps | 86MB
After a few years of instability when the group's future was in doubt, Clem Snide are back and in clearly recognizable form on their seventh studio album, The Meat of Life, which finds the core trio of Eef Barzelay (guitar and vocals), Brendan Fitzpatrick (bass and keyboards), and Ben Martin (percussion) joined by guest musicians Tony Crow (keyboards), Roy Agee (trombone), and Carole Rabinowitz (cello). With the band in stable circumstances, for the most part Clem Snide pick up where they left off with Soft Spot and End of Love; except for a few moments where the electric guitars get pushed into overdrive on "BFF" and "Walmart Parking Lot," The Meat of Life faces Barzelay's darkly comic lyrics against melodies that wouldn't have felt out of place on a '70s soft rock session, with acoustic pianos and tasteful guitar lines providing the aural framework for stories of romantic angst and languid depression. Barzelay is seemingly incapable of singing without appearing to drip with irony, but the 12 songs on The Meat of Life never sound as if the band is forcing the joke, and the subtle balance between the polish of the music and the rough, dour textures of Barzelay's voice adds something close to poignancy, reflecting the arid, busted lives at the heart of these songs. In many respects, The Meat of Life covers musical territory that Clem Snide have explored in the past, and this album is short on surprises for anyone who has been following the group's career. But Barzelay's songs are good, the ensemble playing is subtle and beautifully executed, and the production by Mark Nevers and the group is clean and unobtrusive, capturing the songs without pointless clutter. The Meat of Life might sound like "another Clem Snide album," but considering that it wasn't so long ago that it looked like this band was over and done, getting another serving of what these musicians do so well is more than welcome even if it doesn't break much new ground. -- AMG (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:j9fixztsld6e)

Kaki King - Junior (2010)
mp3 VBR V0
Kaki King is an alternative singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, and new album Junior sees her joined by drummer Jordan Perison and multi-instrumentalist Dan Brantigan. Her career spans more than the past ten years with critical acclaim and fan admiration aplenty.
Taking a new direction from her previous work, King has worked closely with trusted musicians to create an album of ecclectic variety from punk to dance-rock providing inspiration. Occasional interludes are provided by purely instrumental tracks while the rest of the album features heartfelt vocals and originality.
The first thing you notice about King's latest album is the variety, with everything from upbeat dance to soothing instrumentals perfectly balanced throughout. With an ambient vocal style that isn't always perfect she reminds me of the mid-nineties indie scene, most notably Sleeper and Catatonia, whose female vocalist would front their performances with a unique sound to divide them from the other bands around. The lo-fi recording style often lends an air of delicacy, even to the heavier and more upbeat tracks on the album, which won't be to everyone's taste, but it would be an injustice to not mention the talent and creativity that shines through every track. Kaki King isn't the kind of artist you put on in the background, or someone you would watch live to bounce around to, and Junior is an album that demands your full attention while rewarding you with fantastic alternative rock. Stand out moments include Spit It Back In My Mouth and Communist Friends.

Sparklehorse - Good Morning Spider (1998)
mp3 VBR~256kbps | 93MB
Recorded after singer/songwriter Mark Linkous' accidental, near-fatal drug reaction and subsequent 12-week stay in London's St. Mary's Hospital, Good Morning Spider dwells in the gray areas between dreaming and waking, sickness and health, and living and dying. The album takes these grey areas and makes a world out of them, blending classic songwriting with an experimental sound that borrows from hi-fi and lo-fi. It's a natural progression from their debut, Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot, which introduced Sparklehorse's refreshing mix of classic songwriting and sonic experimentation. Good Morning Spider adds bubbling synths, ambient electronics, horns and drum loops to the mix, giving songs like "Painbirds" an unclassifiable -- but distinctively Sparklehorse -- blend of darkness and childlike innocence. From driving, punky songs like "Pig" and "Cruel Sun," to frail, winding ballads such as "Saint Mary" and "Come On In," to the experimental pop of "Ghost of His Smile" and "Sunshine," the album encompasses a rainbow of sounds and emotions but never loses focus. -- AMG album pick (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:hbfexqujldte)

Anaïs Mitchell - Hadestown (2010)
Heavily influenced by the confessional alternative folk stylings of Ani DiFranco, Anaïs Mitchell began writing songs when she was 17. Born in Vermont, she attended Middlebury College and traveled throughout the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe studying global politics before alighting in Austin, TX, in the early 2000s. She released her first album, The Song They Sang When Rome Fell, in 2002. Mitchell performed at the Kerrville Folk Festival the following year, where she was awarded with the New Folk award. Her second album, Hymns for the Exiled, came out on Waterbug Records in 2004, and a copy eventually made its way to DiFranco herself. The folk icon attended a few of Mitchell's performances and offered her a deal at Righteous Babe Records soon after. The Brightness, Mitchell's debut on that label, arrived in February 2007. In 2006, Mitchell debuted her "folk opera" Hadestown in collaboration with arranger Michael Chorney and director Ben T. Matchstick based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice and set in a futurist poverty-striken America. A second draft was performed by the a group called the Hadestown Company in 2007. An album entitled Hadestown with appearances from Greg Brown, DiFranco and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon was released on Righteous Babe in March of 2010. <AMG>
