ice cream makers are nifty devices!!

Aaron just got me one and I made some ice cream up the other day but because I am on the strict diet that the doctors have me on and such it has like so little fat in it that when i froze it over night it froze like rock hard :( damn me and my non fat non sugar home made ice cream...

Anyway do you guys have any recipes for ice cream makers??? Do you own one?? if so do u like it??

I've always wanted to make my own blueberry ice cream. My parents owned an ice cream maker and I remember them using it a few times when I was really little but they ended up getting rid of it.

I made ice cream in 10th grade chemistry though. Looking back, I made a lot of awesome food in high school science classes, my favorite being cream cheese. Only took a week to make! :D

same, i remember it tasting weird and too creamy. i dunno if they thru it out, probably, either that or it's stored away uselessly somewhere.

i wish i had an ice cream maker. ice cream and pizza are my two favorite things in the world because i'm 5 years old.

i apologize, this is off on a tangent, but i made the weirdest/dumbest thing a couple weeks ago. i was very drunk, baked phylo dough w/ a dash brown sugar and some honey in muffin tins and filled them w/ vanilla bean ice cream and a guacamole of avocado/honey/baked banana/slivered almonds then stuck it all back in the freezer. it was okay but kind of like "why?"

oh i bet that was gooood! i've got some tuna filets that i may try that with on my days off. mmm!

i absolutely LOVE homemade ice cream. i have my grandmothers old wooden ice cream maker, it's really neat although i don't use it quite enough. i may make some on my day off along with the peppers. i should make a few flavors and put them in tupperwares! i'm excited now and my stomach is growling!

yeah, the tuna-stuffed peppers sound good. once i had jalapeno ice cream. well, i say ice cream loosely because it was vegan. but it was good.

One time my dad was trying to make a recipe that came with his ice cream maker called "Old Fashion Vanilla." He made a mistake, though, and instead of adding vanilla he used maple. It was awesome! It was like maple syrup ice cream, and since I was 10 I couldn't get enough of it! I don't know if I would like it now, but it remains in my memory as one of the greatest inventions of all time.

i like maple ice cream w/ walnuts which is probably similar? i think there's not one ice cream flavor i've had that i dislike though. this excludes sherbert.

i love all those things. was it a smooth blending of flavors or were there chunks of all these things in it?

well what i did was i blended the bananas and when i blended the pb i used a cup of milk to thin it so there wouldn't be chunks. there are only tiny pieces of banana, and the chocolate is actually based from a protein powder that I supplement my diet with.

it is good if you want to know how to make it let me know i'll pm you or post a recipe for ya :D

There's something about a white pizza with huge gobs of ricotta that just can't be beaten.

Ice cream? I dunno, I love it all. I have a special place in my gullet for pistachio.

holy crap, Kendra, i kid you not, i am nearly shaking to find a kindred spirit in passion for pistachio. i talk about it 24/7 to Bailey. it's my number one. i love Ben & Jerry's Pistachio Pistachio because the ice cream is a smidge too sweet and the nuts a smidge too bitter. it's a perfect match.

Pistachio ice cream is amazing, as is pistachio pudding. Did you know that pistachios grow on trees? I wish I had one!

I agree that Ben & Jerry's is the best pistachio around. I like how it's not seafoam green.
