It would be a nice feature for them to add, but I think they omitted this feature due to the fact it would be server intensive. Right now for threads and such they have one table that's heavily indexed, so I'd assume they'd need to do something similar to the PMs to make a search effective.

An idea though, is now you can download all your PMs (top checkbox item on the right in PM list) as an comma delimited file, text file etc... after you do this you could probably search through it pretty easy using a text editor or a spreadsheet program like excel for the csv file.
