Well I finally got a critical piece I've always wanted for Blamo, I bought a NAS (Network Area Storage Device). It has about .5 TB in it, so it's not that large, but good enough for backing up our database data and the web documents. It's pretty sweet, just hooked it up to my router and installed the 2 250 GB hard drives. Anyone else use a NAS or SAN for home or at work?

The one I got was a Netgear, it was $100 on clearance, it's not the best one you can get, but gets the job done. :)

Nope, never used one. $100 seems like a great price.

Yeah it's cheap because it requires Windows, you can't mount it into Linux at all. I wish I could afford a better solution, but this will work with what I have right now :O

At first I read that as new NAX and my heart skipped a beat.

Hah, I'd never create another NAX without Sean. :D

Sweet, does it support any type of RAID?

Actually it does. I didn't set it up to use raid, but I thought it was pretty cool that it offers it since raid controllers can be quite pricey. It offers Raid 0 and 1.

You should set up RAID! Either for performance or redundancy... WAIT you know this.

I really want a NAS but I couldn't find a good model for a decent price. I didn't want something that didn't do NTFS. What model is this Netgear blamo one?
