naw... black swans are native to our cities river.
before it was a city there were thousands and thousands of them all up and down the river.
now, it's not so much like that, but you do still see them around the city part of the river a lot but not in any great numbers.

but yes... i was chuffed that he made a song called black swan. ;)

Sparrow, I know it has naught to do with me,
But your sweet song does enter mine ear
And pleaseth me as thee.
But with sickly stroke your heart does beat
And your wings struggle to lift your feet –
It has naught to do with me.

Sparrow, I know it has naught to do with me,
The something in your whisper croon
That makes me swoon as thee.
But your song becomes a spectral sound
When in every ear it ought resound –
It has naught to do with me.

Seeing that you are not bound
To reside (as me) on mundane ground
But rather of your own volition
Are free to break from such condition
It does occur to me
That better tis to grounded be
When speaking with respect to me

For viewing your flutter with mine eye
And noting the effort of thy try
It is clear that from our tenuous grasp
Matter of air do oft collapse
And thus, we are forbidden the sky

Sparrow, I know it has naught to do with me.
The joy of flight is your own.
Air does not carry me as thee.
But knowing you a lady be
I can’t help but think you’ll fall (as me),
And Sparrow, I will think it cause of me.

puffins are great
their wings are too small so they use them very enthousiasticly and their silly feet dangle in the air so funnily

There was a dead raven on my front porch this afternoon...what the hell does that mean? It seriously looked like it just dropped dead right there, although I imagine it probably hit the glass door first. I didn't take a picture, sorry.

the other day i learned of the evil queenslandian cassowary. :scared: not only have we dangerous snakes, crocks and spiders to deal with... we have a giant bird that will fuck you up in no time at all. :\

Strangely the tourism brochures never mention these.

I had a photo shoot in an old abandoned farm house a couple months back. In addition to the STUNNING photos of moi (tee hee), we caught some pictures of barn swallows that were dive bombing us.

This photo was used on my business card:
