Recently, I went to my salon to get a haircut, and was flipping through a magazine called "American Salon." There was a feature that they do monthly called "The Way We Were" and the feature was on alternative music in the 1990's. To my delight and surprise, there was a blurb AND a picture with Elliott Smith (and Kurt Cobain and Jeff Buckley). I just wanted to share this with other fans...

Here is the link to the article online, where you can see a jpeg of the feature - you should see a picture with Elliott in it (and Kurt Cobain pic above his). http://www.americansalonmag.com/americansalon/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=467565&sk=&date=&pageID=3

Enjoy!

Additionally, I'm sure somebody has already made mention of this, but Bust magazine has a write up on the Autumn de Wilde book on Elliott as well, giving it a good review. The cover of that particular magazine features the gorgeous and talented Beth Ditto from The Gossip. It is the December/January issue, so chances are it is something you may have to backorder if you're interested. I am having a hard time finding a link to that online, so if you want to look for it, I'm sure you're intelligent enough to figure out how to find it!

Hope all is well for all sweetaddiers! :xo:

Yes, I was ecstatic to get a haircut and see that Elliott was in a seemingly random magazine that I'd never in a million years have picked up. Unless I was in a salon and there was nothing else to read.

And of course, I shared with my hairdresser and my mother (who was getting her haircut) that Elliott was written up in the mag. I was SOOO excited. My mother went on to tell me how I have my seven-year old nephew obsessed with Elliott Smith, and how he's a little morbid. Well, at least he has good taste in music. The morbidity part I'm not too thrilled about but at least he has been introduced to another generation!
