yes, really. i view him as a talented guitar player, but i can't deal with his songwriting. I think he's very overrated.:hate:

That cover of "Straight Outta Compton" by Nina Gordon is amazing. And I think Korn actually did a decent job at "ABITW Pt 1", but parts 2 and 3 were awful. And P!ATD cover of "Tonight Tonight" is horrifying. I remember a few months ago when it came out... ew. And... I don't like John Mayer, either... I like that cover of Kid A, though.
So, more...
Terry Jacks butchered Jacques Brel songs. Such as turning "Ne Me Quitte Pas" (one the most desperate, impassioned, bitter, and heartbreaking songs ever written) into the schmaltz that is "If You Go Away", which lyrically bears no resemblance to Brel's. And, most notably, he turned "Le Moribond" into a schmaltzy and over-sentimental pile of garbage known as "Seasons In the Sun". The video here has an English translation of Brel's actual lyrics... such as saying goodbye/piss off to the dude cheating with his wife, to his priest even though he wasn't perfect, and how he wants people to boogie as he's buried.

And here, we have and abridged version of Falco's cover of "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue"... done as a bit of a smokey lounge song. I really love Falco, and I really love this cover (the album version is like 6 minutes long, and has a crescendo of "high heels, deine high heels..."). So... it's a good cover. But definitely very different from the original.

Lastly... this one is horrifying. A cover of Amanda Lear's "Follow Me" by some dude who takes it way too seriously and is way too melodramatic for the song...
