I saw the Gin Blossoms last night

They were playing for the NYE celebration in downtown Pittsburgh at Station Square. They started at 11pm and were greeted by a massive crowd of twenty somethings (myself included) who awaited the long time favorite "Hey Jealousy". I was partially drunk by the time they started, but I remember they played all of their well known songs (Found Out About You, Til I Hear it From You, Alison Road, Hey Jealousy...which was played last before midnight struck).

I wasn't very close to the stage, but the sound was good, and I couldn't see what they looked like since I'm not that tall and my vision was blurred as it was from all the scotch I drank.

New Miserable Experience is a great, totally uneven drinkin' album. They lost whatever they had after Doug Hopkins died, though. Dude wrote their best songs.

I'd love to see the Gins in concert. I've been a fan since I was a kid (5 actually...when I first heard 'Hey Jealousy') I've loved all their stuff since then. :)

I saw them play a free show in Boston a couple years ago. So depressing. Noone was there and this guy just kept screaming "Follow You Down" in a terrible Boston accent when they played anything else. "Follah Ya Daaaahhhhhhnnnnn. Follah Ya Daaaahhhhnnn! Come Ahhnnn!"

They stopped their main set and everyone started to leave. Then a roadie came out to make the crowd clap so that they could do an encore. They came out to no applause and played "Follah Ya Dahn".
