well i'm not a brit ;)--but amy winehouse has a fantastic voice and has a kind of retro "shangri-las" like sound. very talented, and very interesting style (beehive hairdo, mad eyeliner and tattoos) but she is in a very co dependant relationship and it is highly rumored they are kind of "sid and nancy" (him being nancy) and she has been reduced to a lot of tabloid fodder. her own father says she is hopelessly addicted. To drugs as well as blake (her husband). she has kind of gone the infamous pete doherty route which is unfortunate cuz in both cases the music is being completely outshadowed.

I really do like her voice (and that song is damn catchy), but i'll be shocked if she isn't dead in the next 5 years. It's a shame.

I also think there are people doing stuff like this that are better, but it's still pretty good

I don't like her music and I feel sorry for her in away. She's throwing her life away, she the perfect example why you shouldn't use drugs. Whats with the worlds fascination with these kind of people, I'm sure if she does die from an overdose her popularity will sky rocket.

I really like her music, and feel really sorry for her personal situation. Concentrating on her msuic, if you want some to listen to try her cover of the Zutons' 'Valerie' - it is a million times better than the awful original. Also try 'Tears Dry On Thier Own' and 'Love Is A Loosing Game'.

If you can, ignore the other stuff, it's a sad tale but I find it much better to listen to someone's music before exploring their character!
