Not sure how many people did or didnt see this but PDXGurl from the SweetAddy forums saw Quasi play last night anddddddddd she said this, and i quote,

"since a few asked to let 'em know, the quasi show was really excellent lastnight. the last time i saw them was last year and i think they are even tighter (if possible). they played a long very rockin set and then an encore that included a cover of the stones, "mother's little helper". show ended a bit after 1am. joanna kind of stood back but the bass inclusion sounded really nice. she has her hair cut back into that little bob reminicent of '98 and oh yeah, sam shaved the beard!
got it straight from janet lastnight that the new record is done and is prob going to be released march 5th. (so i'm guessing a tour will follow?)
so there you go!"

i predict the new album is going to be all guitar. all 4 or 5 new songs that i've heard live were all on guitar. should be interesting.

Sam usually played that brown strat, but an SG? well those guitars are amazing, Zappa played one most of his career and well? talk about raw sound....i play an SG and have had many guitars but my SG is like honey...

I guess I should pay more attention to this forum. Every time I try to, I get disappointed. Simply because there are at most four or five active members.
This is the best news I've heard in months! This is! This IS phenomenal! So much love! A DATE and everything? Oh wow! I mean, last I heard was that they were going on this little mini-tour to try out the new member line-up, with a few new songs (and people had hoped that meant some sort of album or EP coming out in the next year) but this is incredible!

Hoshit! You're right. I've been telling everyone I know, here in Chicago. And the closest anyone got to caring was "Oh, that's cool. I'm glad you're happy!"
Sigh. It's hard to be a stranger in a land of people who don't appreciate Quasi.

yeah, im so excited, but like you, Failure's Art, nobody really cares haha, even in NYC. Either way, Ill be the first in line when they play NYC. 3 months from tomorrow, quasi fans! Im also excited to catch Malkmus when he comes here, after all, if Janet is on drums the show is going to be good.

Have a good weekend, all.
