Um, that's a weird question. I like them both very much. I discovered Bright Eyes about 2 years before I even knew David Dondero existed. I have only heard The Transient, South of the South, & I also have Simple Love, but I haven't checked it out yet. I love The Transient. I was quite obesessed with it for a long time. I'd like to heard some of David's old stuff. I'd kill to get my hands on some Sunbrain stuff.

i think david dondero is pretty good. i think its a little calmer than bright eyes, especially their earlier stuff, but still quality stuff. either way, they have very distinctive sounds.

David Dondero is talented, and I like most of what I've heard, but IMO Conor's songwriting blows Dondero away. No question about it. But like I said, I've only heard 2 of David's many albums (The Transient, & South of the South). Why don't you upload & post a different album of his that might change my mind?

the sunbrain stuff is great, Ghostmeat is rereleased it all in a few months, finally. As far as other non popular Dondero albums to get into, get Shooting At The Sun With A Water Gun, that album is fucking great. All the others are too, but that one is by far my fav Dondero album.

That would probably be the farthest thing from his mind.
I'd say he just ended up a lot more successful than Dondero because he was better.
