sorry if this is sounding like a personal blog , i hate it here , i had to move back here about 5 years ago because i ended up the only sibling to my aging parents. its a very backwards place but i have great respect for the history that has happened in this city, a person who used to post here by the name of the cisco kid once told me the only persons you can really learn from are from people who have been around the block more than a few times, not sure if she meant chronologicaly or expierience , but i find myself seeking out people who were peers in the age when historical events happened in this city and i have stories ,but today i visited a 80 year old man who handed me a sun records publicity 8x10 photo of elvis presley from 1955 , it was signed , i could feel the indentions of the pen through the photo, also i saw photos from 1955 that have never been published anywhere . what can i say . what a privlege is all i can think of

thats really cool. I'm not an Elvis fan at all,but I understand his significance, that's got some serious history behind it. Did you ever think of robbing some songwriters houses just as a joke you know? nothing serious.

here is one an old timer told me, thats all right mama gets played on whbq radio 5 times in a row, his friends are amazed and go looking for him , finally find him in the back alley of a movie theatre and he is crying bawling , tells his friend he knows that the song is being played and then says to one you know im crying because i know things will never be the same for me again in my life

I live 2 hours north of you,Moved here from chicago.you may think memphis is backwards but thay at least have an Indian resturant and great hippy stores (oberton square) we have co-op and rural king....
to hold history how cool is that .more stories please.

true story, no verification , but really really a true story, this singer and keyboard player from memphis of a little known band called derek and the dominos returns to memphis `1976 starts gigging around town ,a friend i know works well kinda works for him and one night they drive right into the driveway of graceland around to the garage and this guy named ep meets them in the garage and trades this singer for this unknown band a bag of pills for a bag of pot , 1976
