So a kid was acting a damn fool and they tased him after they asked him to leave, and he resisted.

I saw a "don't tase me, bro" t-shirt for sale somewhere.

UGH.

I'm sick and tired of this shit. A guy that I went to high school with was there when it happened and also took video and he thinks he's such hot shit cause CNN used his videos. He's been bragging all over Facebook about it. *kicks him*

i saw a little thing on the news this morning and the guy who got tazed has a website and he posts stupid skits and pranks. i'm sure his site is getting loads of traffic now. what a jerkoff. who knew you could get tazed for RESISTING ARREST??!

I haven't seen/heard about that before. Wow.

Resisting arrest, especially with that many officers, is pretty stupid/futile. But the technicality is you can't be held for resisting if they're wrongfully arresting you to begin with (well, you can, but police generally don't like being sued, so...).

It's also kinda lame that John Kerry was letting it happen.

And fuck... I hate ever agreeing with Tucker Carlson. Ew. I need to go shower now.

But yeah, total LOL @ the "don't tase me, bro" soundclip.

Kerry didn't let it happen. He said something like "It's okay, I'll answer the question" on the video. Later I read that Kerry said in 37 years he'd been through emotionally charged situations and wars and he'd never seen something like that.

This kid almost certainly had what was coming to him. Using a taser/stungun/whatever was ridiculous though, and the cops have what's coming to them too.

Am I the only one who couldn't stop laughing? I felt guilty but couldn't help it.

Aye. A bit more assertive would've been nice if he thought it was that bad, but yeah, you're right.

That said... I def. thought it was funny and lolled and all that shit. But at the same time... wtf? I don't think he had it coming at all. He was standing there, at the microphone, talking. Impassioned, angry... yeah. But he certainly wasn't doing anything threatening, illegal, or even disruptive. And it was a valid question (well, the Skull & Bones thing was a bit much... he had to realise that wouldn't do anymore than antagonize Kerry). Yeah, he lost it when they grabbed him... but if a group of people (even if they are police) grabbed me for absolutely no reason, I'd probably start yelling at them, too.

The fact is, he was within his legal rights. He wasn't doing anything disruptive or threatening. The police grabbed him without even a tap on the shoulder/"wrap it up"... A Supreme Court decision awhile back ruled that any police force without just cause is "assault and battery", and civilians have the right to defend themselves as they would from any other wacko on the street.

Well, I was basing my opinions on the other stuff I read, or I would agree with you. From what I understand (and this is internet so take it for what it's worth), the kid had busted in from outside with university police in tow, pushed his way to the front of a line of people waiting to speak, and had his friend set up holding a video camera before he came in. And with the website he supposedly has where he plays pranks and stuff, if all that is true then it sounds like he was asking for trouble and had what was coming to him.

But I do believe you're right that people may defend themselves against meritless attacks by police. I don't think that's the case here - they could probably have arrested him if the internet rumors are true, but using a taser appears to be pretty ridiculous from the tape, and he has a good excessive force argument.

The dude certainly did seem like an annoying jackass, but I don't think it warranted a tasing. They should of just picked him up and tossed him out.

He was ranting on that M-I-C like an inarticulate fool.

Well the thing is I think he is riding the coattails of all this attention and was hoping for SOME kind of publicity from the stunt. If it wasn't for that I'd feel really sorry for him. Being tazed was a bit much, but he was kinda an attention seeking idiot.

 I believe the taser was appropriate for your last line alone.

They gave him atleast three chances to comply.

Better than unintentionally breaking his arm because he wouldn't unlock it and put it behind his back.

Huh. Hadn't heard that. I'm so out of the loop.

Regardless... that's reason to throw him out as soon as he got there. Not reason to let him ask a question, shut off his mic, then grab him when he asks why his mic was shut off.

Douchey stunt aside... I think it was a valid question. Probably the best question Kerry could have been asked. I was one of the few people who actually *liked* Kerry (he's not my ideal candidate, and I disagree with him on several issues, but...). And him conceding really pissed me off... giving up and all that, when we all know he should have won, leaving us with Bush. Yeah, the whole Skull & Bones thing... but when your options are one member who you KNOW is a sociopath, and one who seems reasonable, then... Yeah.

So... the guy may be a douche... I don't know the whole story. But still...

What exactly was his question? I've been seeing this video over and over on CNN because it's on all day at work, but this is the first place that I've even heard that his question regarded Skull and Bones.

What exactly was his question? I've been seeing this video over and over on CNN because it's on all day at work, but this is the first place that I've even heard that his question regarded Skull and Bones.

The question was basically why Kerry conceded and didn't fight the rigged voting... didn't even go through with the full recount. Also, why if Kerry is so vehemently opposed to Bush and always has been, and if he's so opposed to invading Iran, why he hasn't been more vocal about calling Bush out on it and calling for impeachment (probably directed toward the Democratic Party as a whole moreso, but...).

Basically, if Kerry is so against Bush and what he's doing for/to the country, why did he roll over so quickly/easily.

Here's a link to a video of his full question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIYTJ75U4NU

EDIT: Btw, I think the Skull & Bones reference was mostly a jab implying that Kerry had something to do with the fixed election (or at least why he didn't fight it), which... meh. And that's when his mic got cut.

I personally don't care. But I see why people do.

That said... Masonic secret societies are hardly just "college boys clubs".

I hear we are getting Taser's in england soon, that would be sweet.

If you're ever in the mood to lose all hope for humanity, just start reading youtube comments. Jesus.

That dude was trying to make a scene, not just trying to ask a question. He wouldn't have been arrested if he hadn't gotten hysterical and resisted when they tried to escort him out. He wouldn't have been tasered if he hadn't continued to resist after they had him on the ground. In another video you can even hear a woman comment that the kid's a dumbass for continuing to resist while they have a taser poised over his chest. Once security determined that they needed to remove the guy, tasering him or injuring him in some other way was obviously the only way they were going to accomplish their objective.

The real point of controversy is whether or not he should have been removed at all. Obviously the crowd was glad initially that he was being "escorted" away. Kerry plays it cool and acts like he's happy to answer his aggressive questions, but like just about any other politician, I'm sure he expected a nice, controlled, semi-scripted Q&A.

So were the guards Kerry fans or Bushies? Obviously this makes all the difference.

Actually, a few years back, a friend and I were majorly getting into occult/Magick/Golden Dawn/masons/gnostic shit, and we kinda started forming a *real* secret society, until we both realised we thought secret societies were stupid. And they are. Meh. I still like Magick, though.

But I'm still fascinated by them. And I think pseudo-secret societies are awesome (chanting and candles and nonsense galore...). Skull & Bones is most definitely a real one, though... which I find kinda childish. :D
