My parents are planning to switch to this and I keep convincing them not to because I heard they block torrent sites and VoIPs. (we're going to go on Vontage soon..and I don't want to end up with a phone service we cannot use)

Anybody have experience with this shit?

Never heard of it, is it crappy like AOL?

Scroll down to the consensus report and you'll see that it's pretty low!

the don't block you.
it's okay, good download and upload speed, not the best though.

they dont block torrents. i have road runner and get really good download speeds on torrents(sometimes as fast as 750k/s) but i have the business class(shared between 6 computers though)

its not great but not horrible.

I wouldn't go with any ISP that tells you what sites you can't look at just on principle, but that's besides the point. We have Shaw and they're okay. Torrents usually top out at like 250-ish kb/s, but with an ftp and a download manager sometimes like 600....

Update: I like Roadrunner so far. It's cheap...and I didn't have a downloading problem. Even though I stopped using torrents when Oink shut down.
