Do you think he smokes pot on a regular bases?
Not that it matters, just wondering..

this is a pretty stupid topic for a thread - sorry pockets :)
I must say, i have been listening to Digital Ash quite a lot recently... i like hit the switch and ship in a bottle.... I especialy like the line "i'm completely alone at a table of friends I feel nothing for them, i feel nothing, NOTHING!" That really sums up the feeling well for me - it's not so much a bad reflection of the friends, just their inability to fill in the blank of romantic love....

my only problem with this song and the whole bright eyes premise is, i wish i could somehow perceive Connor winking on the side to me to convince me that this humour is intended.... It's so close to being completly narcisistic I find it hard to tell whether it's really worth anything....

Why are pot smoking threads so taboo? It's not like i'm asking "Hey, how big is conor's wang?"
As for Digital Ash, the best part of that album IMO is the end part of I Belive in symmetry.
Stee, I Know it's not on the album, but you should check out his cover of Simon Joyner's Burn Rubber. It was on the Take It Easy single...

Ahh! That is clearly the best part of the album! The lyrics! The strings! Ahhh!!! That part makes me love and believe in Nate Walcott 110%.

I don't know. Something about smoking weed just seems so juvenile. The entire process of getting it packing it and whatnot is just something you always see kids do. I always have a hard time picturing mature people smoking pot, but maybe that's just because I don't.
Mature people just shoot up.
But seriously.

anyone who makes the distinction between mature and immature people is usually a lot more fucking immature than they would lead themself to believe.
anyway, condor looks like he's strung out... a lot. He never says exactly what drugs that he does do... but he used to do lots of them, dunno if he still does. Sure looks like it in some interviews.

Chill dude. I was just saying that was my perception and I have nothing to support that. i know that there are thousands of adults who smoke weed all over the place. I admit it was innaccurate and I never meant for it to seem like I thought it wasn't. And the "mature" thing was obviously a joke.

I thought conor did cocaine... but that's the whole point of Cassadaga, how he went somewhere to get clean and level out and stuff.

man, I suck at this moderator thing sometimes! I tried quoting you but I accidently clicked the edit button! Anyways...
I'm curious have you gotten a chance to check out 'False Advertising'. He is clearly having a go at himself and his whole image.
"For a song, I was bought
Now I lie when I talk
With a careful eye on the cue cards
Onto a stage, I was pushed
With my sorrow well rehearsed
So give me all your pity and your money now
All of it"

I would hope that he doesn't smoke pot. If he does smoke pot, this would explain some of his laziness in songwriting, and the fact that his songs usually all blend into one giant song.

Damn. Maybe you should include some examples.

Er, are you sure this isn't laziness in listening? :)
