I just got my Zeitgeist special edition (with book) along with the Tarantula single as cd and vinyl - the record is plain white without a cover and the cd has Paris Hilton on it... I really can't decide what's better...
anyway, I only had the 'normal' version of Zeitgeist before and didn't really read all of the booklet because the whole album art seemed quite uninteresting to me. but now I read the book... and it says photography by Billy Corgan! I guess I'm not the only one having noticed that, but I was really surprised...
First thing came to my head was Billy holding a huge professional camera which already seemed unlikely to me and then I saw him standing in front of Paris Hilton, saying things like 'yeah, baby, yeah, you're looking GOOD. now smile like a cute but sick little puppy and - yeah, like that - look at the camera!'
I mean...yuck!
Somehow I believe Billy has never even touched a camera before, dunno why, but that's my impression. now what I really want to know is why he decided to even do the photography on his own. because he's got no gf any more to do it for him? because he's become an even bigger egomaniac than ever? or because it's his mid-life-crisis and he's looking for a new hobby?
now, don't get me wrong, the photos aren't bad, but I just think it might have improved the whole booklet/art if he'd let it done by professionals... I think he should concentrate more on music, cause that's what he's really good at. and maybe sometimes take an advice from other people in things like this.
