A monitor thing (help!)

Lately whenever I switch my monitor off or the screensaver kicks in, when I turn it back on it goes blank and I have to switch it back off and then back on to make it work, if that makes sense. Sometimes I have to do it 4 or 5 times before it stays on.

Any ideas? Do I need a new monitor/video card? If it's the latter I will be super burned because I just got a new ATI 512Mb thing like two months ago. D:

Check your power saving settings.
Reinstall your drivers.

Power savings are all turned off, but I will for sure re-do the drivers tomorrow. Good call. :D

What card did you get?

This may be a lame long shot, but you might want to get the config file for your monitor (yeah, it's probably plug and play, but most monitors have a little file to tell the computer what settings it can use) and install it again.
