I heard about this today, and just wanted to pass this along. I'll come back and post a link tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure this is going to be a pretty stiff blow to Sony. RE has plenty of followers and now Sony has zero RE games.

So here is what you do.

Microsoft is fixing ALL 360's suffering from three light ring of death. Previously owned or not.

Pick up a broke 360 off of e-bay, at most about $150.

Send it in for free, get it fixed like almost new.

BAM, Cheap 360.

Pretty sure you have to be registered as the original owner, but if you want to try your luck... http://cgi.ebay.com/Microsoft-Xbox-360-PREMIUM-AS-IS-3-RED-RINGS-OF-DEATH_W0QQitemZ280133762267QQihZ018QQcategoryZ62054QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Looks like nobody else is trying your scheme.

Yeah...you nailed it...

Don't bother trying, Wal-Marts also aren't bothering with returns, they always call Microsoft first before taking product back...and this was three years ago...

re: RE5 though, I've heard it might be on the Wii too. With that crazy motion gun they are developing and all.

They are honoring ALL Xbox360's that have the three red lights of death error. Previously owned or not.

Hows about I wait for the price drop and get one knew with a much bigger hard drive than 20gb?

:P

The only thing you have to make sure of with these is that the xbox hasn't been modded and the seal hasn't been broken.

robert, you knob head, does RE on the Wii have a save feature like the RE remake on the GC? (where you collect ribbons).

RE4 doesn't have a save system like any of the previous installments of the game.

All you need to find is the typewriter, no ink.

I was gonna respond and say what an absolute load of bollocks, but I think that has already been established.

Capcom may have appalling translations, but they are not that stupid.

They really screwed up RE4 for the PC. No mouse control, looks worse than the GC/PS2 versions, choose which memory card to save with etc. Press "button 1" to dodge the zombees.

Personally, I'm looking forward to playing the Wii version of RE 4.

Let's not argue and instead relive some classic RE moments:

"Wow, what a mansion!"

"WHAT IS THIS!?"

One thing I always wondered but wasn't entirely sure of.

Was the horrible dialouge directly translated from the Japanese version?

Also, has anyone here ever seen the Japanese RE commercial George A. Romero directed?

It's pretty badass.

my experience with Microsoft and the 360 in general have made me want to stab my eyes out. Next time it breaks I'm going to sledge the damn thing. I'm sick of calling their support line and mailing it back and forth.

3 times it has crashed.

1. Yes, Microsoft can suck it.

2. Even if they did officially announce it as a 360 exclusive, I would take it with a grain of salt. Quoth the Wikipedia...

In September 2001, Capcom announced that the core Resident Evil series would become exclusive to the Nintendo GameCube with three new games: an enhanced remake of the original Resident Evil, a prequel titled Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4. Capcom had previously proposed a version of Resident Evil 4 for PlayStation 2, but the idea was revamped into Devil May Cry.

As a result of heavy losses incurred in 2002, the company later confirmed that not all the Resident Evil series games were actually exclusive to the console, with the exception of Resident Evil 4. Shinji Mikami, in an interview with a Japanese magazine, claimed that he would "cut [his own] head off" if Resident Evil 4 came to the PlayStation 2.

On October 31, 2004, Capcom officially announced that Resident Evil 4 would come to the PlayStation 2 near the end of 2005....

3. It seems like they spent their whole advertising budget on getting Romero in there. The guy who plays Leon looks like he's about 12. :D

4. RE4 on the Wii is so cool. Plus they didn't censor it, you can still get horribly decapitated.
