which songs do you guys think show a more creative James Iha?

Let It Come Down dissapointed me , but somehow i like the songs he performed with the Pumpkins

Take Me Down, The Boy (i love this song), Said Saidly and Blew Away are fantastic songs.

would like to see your opinions.

Honestly I gotta be in the mood for LICD but not the B-sides.In fact I think the B-sides should be on the album.

The pumpkins songs are a great introduction to his type of songs. It was great then...it's still great now...maybe except for The Bells.I still don't like this song.

I agree with Uhmm on the bsides...I connect to those songs more than the album tracks. They sound more sincere, more vulnerable, somehow. ("Take Care" and "Falling" especially...the last line of "Take Care" and then the birds chirping in the background...very beautiful.)

Let It Come Down didn't disappoint me and I don't think it's less "creative" than his songs with the Pumpkins. I think he grew/changed his writing style a lot on that record and hopefully his end result was something that he was satisfied with - it was certainly different from what he had released before (although "Summer" is a bit Let-It-Come-Downy). It seems like a very "James Iha as James Iha" record to me (:oh: ) vs "James Iha as a Smashing Pumpkin." His songs with the Pumpkins are different, but that doesn't surprise me as they were released in the scheme of the Pumpkins' music and not as James Iha songs.

"Never Ever" is bliss. I think after "Let It Come Down" James moved sort of into a more fashion/indie sound, which i enjoy. I'd like to see an entire album in that vein. To me it seems like when he decided to do "Let It Come Down" he decided on a specific sound, rather than just writing a bunch of songs, which would have been amazing (i mean, take "Summer", "Never Ever", "The Boy", etc. and put them all on one album, that'd be nice).

I'm not a fan of the b-sides, actually. I do have to be in the mood for the album, but when i'm in the mood there can be nothing better. "One And Two" has always been a personal favorite. The whole album is genius, in it's own way (EXCEPT "Jealousy" i skip that song every time because it makes me cringe- i still say it sounds like a song from "The Lion King").

Actually, Summer was recorded during the Let It Come Down sessions. If you read the liner notes inside the Perfect single it lists all of the same musicians who played on the Let It Come Down album and it was recorded in the same place as the whole Let It Come Down album. So technically, Summer IS a Let It Come Down song.

It was 9 years ago, actually :D He said in 2000 he was "working on" a follow up. Then we didn't hear boo from him until 2007 when again - he's working on it. I'm hoping it'll show by 2017. I sincerely like his music and wish he'd put something else out on his lonesome. I'd love to see him tour, even if it was just a couple NYC dates again.

I read somewhere that he was making a new solo album. I think it might have been on wiki i can't remember...

I mean i just got his first one anyway. Never have really bothered to see what James Iha has been doing musically, I mean apart from APC. Yeah i do like his solo album, I was told about it by a girl i know works at a record store. Ill have to keep asking her about a new release date I might tomorrow. Should be annouced soon if it's been 9 years.

I don't know if James is ready to be a father!

At some level...he would be a cool dad. The kid will prob have the most stylish haircut, you know those 500 bucks a snip ones? Apparel by Dior Jr or something.

However, he's so not ready for that sort of commitment. Dare I say he knows it?
