OS Conversion/What operating system will you use next?

To be honest, I'm going to continue using Windows XP until it is unfeasible compatibility-wise/there is a massive technological breakthrough that is worth switching for, or I'm going to see how Ubuntu is progressing. In fact, one of the first things I'm going to do with my new HDD is make a little partition and check it out.

The alternatives are entirely unappealing.

I went for Nerd OS too, probably Ubuntu. Although, to be honest I might just end up running a dual-boot with that and Vista eventually. But yeah, not until it's completely impractical to stick with XP...

Well, that's what I did today! I installed 7.4 on my old computer. It is already up and running very well. Flash and java plugins are sorted now, so my brother can use it.

Very impressed so far, can't wait to try it on my machine. The only problem I foresee is that both my desktop and laptop have ati cards, which I understand are a bit iffy with linux out of the box.

I have ubuntu and xp dual booted on my girlfriends computer, and they compliment each other well. Whenever I get sick to death of one, I switch to the other. I recently upgraded to bloaty vista on my notebook, and I like it just swell. So I won't be doing any switching any time soon.

I was consider removing Ubuntu and replacing it with Fedora, but for now Ubuntu / Windows XP

I'm fine with XP Pro still.

I might install Vista on my next new computer to try it out.
