Best Weapons

What do you think are the all time best weapons used in a game, any game, from any format?

I'll take the flechette gun in Turok. Had three rotating chainguns. That thing was awesome. Also, the bow-n-arrow with the poisnous darts. The enemy would buckle-over and vomit, then die.


The Torque Bow in Gears of War is sick too.

The Predator spear gun in Aliens vs. Predator 2, but only if you use it right. If you hit a soldier in the head with it, down they go and on closer inspection their severed head will be nicely pinned to the wall. :yes:

Ja the gravity gun is good. I especially like it at the start of Episode 1.

It's certainly the most badass at the end of HL2 and the beginning of Episode 1, but I actually like playing levels designed for the more toned down grav gun, instead. Sure it's fun to pull soldiers through the air and kill them instantly, but it's far more rewarding to find a solid, perfectly-shaped object and then go looking for something to kill. I liked the radiators because you could hold them in front of you as shields but you could still see through them and they were solid enough to kill anything when you launched them. I also liked to pull a man hack out of the air and, while it's trying to cut me, hold it up against an enemy and watch it cut them up. And then there was that part where I had taken control of a turret and I was carrying it around with the grav gun in an area with lots of hiding head crabs. The turret always spotted and eliminated the crabs before they had a chance to ambush me.
