so i'm really confused. First of all, I've been confused for years about Birdo's name. In Super Mario Bros. 2, she was named as "Ostro" at the end and there was another character named "Birdo." Then, she started showing up in party style mario games all over the place as Birdo...I'm all sorts of confused. Speaking of confused, I was looking on Gamefaqs about whether or not I had unlocked everything for Super Mario Strikers (not a very well put together game...but it is kind of fun). I stumbled upon this "Birdo made his first appearance in Super Mario Bros 2, and was at "the end of every level. Yes, 'his' first appearance, Nintendo has confirmed this. (Thanks to gezebarth for pointing out the error.)" WHAT!? Birdo is a he? I have a trophy in Super Smash Bros. that begs to differ. As does my instruction booklet to Mario Kart. You're confusing me, you bowed bitch

Wasn't Super Marios Bros. 2 not really a Mario game? I thought it was just made in to a Mario game for Europe and US, but in Japan it was something completely different. Maybe this is why the confusion?

This would appear to confuse things further, now s/he's BIRDETTA?!?!? Ahhh, but things will be cleared up.

According to Wikipedia, which has already been mentioned, Birdo & Ostro (which was the ridable ostrich) were switched in the manual & end credits. Birdo is the actually egg spitting bitch.

Then there is the issue of whether the egg comes from his/her hands, or stomach. Read Wikipedia's article. It's inconclusive. Also, there's the issue of the ribbon.

God damn this bird is confusing. Birdo is still one of the greatest characters ever.
