I'm getting quite into my online gambling now, purely for fun, I've put about 40 quid on my account over two months and am at 25 quid or so with a couple of bets pending (inc. liverpool to beat arsenal at home - evens - and a three match accumulator for germany, portugal and spain to win their next games). I've given up trying to win big on specialist bets like correct score, and have learned never to back England as they are a shite team made up of excellent players - go figure.

I'm too tight to get a gambling habit, so there is nothing for me to worry about. and I know that sticking to safe bets is eventually going to lose me money, but it is reet good fun having stuff riding on outcomes. anyone else bet? I much prefer it to card games. danny, i know you worked in a betting shop, any humourous anecdotes? I like the fact that I avoid the down and outs by betting at home.

It is great fun and makes games much more enjoyable, especially games I wouldn't normally care for. I just went to Vegas and bet a lot on college basketball. Ended up a bit down, probably $100 or so, but made it up by being up about $400 in live poker. It's great because all of the games are all at once, with these enormous televisions all set up and thousands of fans screaming their heads off. Luckily there's good security so people don't try to kill each other for betting on the opposite team, etc.

Betting on sports rocks, basically.

gambling scares me...I think I'm too safe...I would rather keep my tenner than risk it and lose it...I mean, it is 4/5 pints or an album!

nah paul. the scottishness in me means I could never start handing over loads of dosh to the bookies for no return. with weed, the more money you paid the higher you got.
