Anyone used this OS before? I'm thinking about installing it to live on my PC along with Windows XP.

Hmmm this is pretty sweet. The only thing that's annoying me is I lose my better resolution on my video drivers and I'm unable to find anything from nVidia to help me out.

I'm going to install it on my old PC when my brother gets his iMac.
Is it a hassle to install things?
I have seen some very pretty interfaces for it.

Ooooh, our computer is dual-OS with Windows XP and Ubuntu. The Partition Manager when you install it isn't always 100%, but other than that it is sweet. It has a package manager to install the most common stuff built into it, but for any other stuff you need (including nVidia drivers and Beryl, the 3D deskyop thinger), this (http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Edgy) is my favourite site. It's a wiki that tells you how to load stuff from the console, so you just copy and paste it, and off you go.

I think actually it was easier to install than Windows. The CD boots right up into the OS than runs off the CD and then gives you the option to install it from there on the hard disk. It's pretty nice I could surf the web while installing the OS.

Cool, I'll have to look into it more tomorrow maybe. I have to modify the code a bit so I can get it to share printers and my firewire hard drive to Amanda's Windows machine and I should be set. :O

That is very cool, but by 'installing things' I meant installing applications etc. Although Mark's site looks v. helpful.

Oh yeah, the package thing is actually even easier. It's literally just a list of compatible programs, and you just tick the box for the thing you want. Then it'll say "To install this, you need this, okay?" And you go "cool man" and then it is installed. And you don't even have to reboot or anything.

Mark thank you for the Ubunto:Edgy link that fixed a lot of my issues. :D I'm starting to really like this OS environment.
I'm going to now search for something to replace iTunes, since I have a lot of iTunes songs that requires authentication.
