How many times have you heard someone say "The ref ruined the game by sending that player off"? Bullshit. The player did that himself by acting like a cunt.

Heh! I have just been watching that from a link from the fiver!
It was actually Steven Taylor who was sent off for Newcastle. He was the third Toon player to get it that game - it was the same match as the Bowyer/Dyer bust-up. The same thing happened to Newcastle about 15 years ago - 3 sent off, 2 for fighting each other.

I hate the dives. It happens way too much.
On the other hand, the sport should get credit for handing out cards for that. It happens all the time in basketball and they don't do a damned thing about it. The best you get is a no-call and laughed at. I've thought for a long time they should tech guys up for bad flops in basketball.

If ever there was a game that demonstrates how big a part confidence plays, then that is it.
Liverpool were the better team before Deco's goal. (Fucking great cross from Zambrotta, but both Gerard and Riise should have done better). Then we had the (only) Barca onslaught. I knew that Barca have been having problems at the back, and Bellamy missed a great chance to equalise before the goal, but the defending for the equaliser was atrocious.
I think the second half was pretty one sided overall. Barca just never recovered from the equaliser, and we had several good chances to win by more. Still, I loved Bellamy's celebration and his set up for Riise to score with his right foot (!!!!??) was brilliant. You just couldn't write that script!
I'm surprised we only got away with 4 yellows. That ref was fucking shit. We only had to go near a Barca player and they awarded a free kick against us.
