Can someone tell me where to buy hot sauces that taste like HP!
It must have no vinegar, wheat flour, black pepper, peppercorn and mace.
:nerd:
CHOLULA. has vinegar. but that's my favourite.

hmm, you want spicy brown sauce? I think HP do one that's widely available.
However, if you want proper hot sauce then just get yourself a bottle of Encona, it's in most shops and it's tasty.
I must admit that I'm mldly addicted to hot sauces and have about 10 bottles on the go at the moment. :O Everytime I see one I haven't got then I buy it. It's great too that they last for ages and you don't need to refrigerate them. One of my all time favourites is Denise's hotsauce which I bought in Antigua. I think it's only local to that island so I've never found it anywhere since. :(

i'm not really a big fan of hot sauces. I mean, i'll use them if the food deems it necessary. I'm more of a salsa/bbq sauce kind of guy.

yeah, sweet baby ray's is my fav. bbq sauce, for sure.
for salsa I make my own, the recipe:
3 large tomatoes
1 large onion
a handfull of cilantro
juice of three limes
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 habanero pepper
put the tomatoes, onion and habanero into a cast iron skillet and get them roasted good and dark. either stovetop or oven, doesn't matter. let them cool off then throw everything into a blender and puree it.
done. hot as shit but addicting as hell. it's GOOD hot as opposed to painful hot.

OK me too, I love hot sauces. You should try a Vietnamese chili sauce called "Sriracha". It has a green top and a rooster on the front. SO EFFIN GOOD. Mild but garlic and tasteeeeee.

I have a sriracha sauce but it's not of the Vietnamese variety. It's by "Flying Goose Brand" and it's from Thailand! :O
It's probably a lot more authentic! In the USA they add preservative:

I went through a phase of that, it was great! It really aids digestion and is yummy4life. Also good for the lungs!

Okay so that's the stuff I have (but with the green lid!!) I guess it is Thai, but at the place where I buy mine at this little store that a nice Vietnamese family runs called Mr. Video (?) they told me it was Vietnamese, and I could rent Vietnamese videos too but I don't.
They have lots of awesome stuff like, dried mango (I love it) and crazy little cookies that I also love.
So do I have the good stuff, or the crap stuff, Will!?

Tabasco sucks. Get Red Devil Hot sauce. Cholula is good too though. There are several other good ones too, the only name that comes to mind is Frank's Red Hot.
Sriracha is great too.

depending on where you live, i would suggest going to a Central Market.
they have everything there...basically i enjoy hot things, you know, the actual hot sauces, but i'll tell what is really great- hogwash. yep, its not a hot sauce, but that shit is tasty. i pour it on just about anything.it can also be used as a marinade if you so choose. it has a picture of a large boar on the label, and it has the word HOGWASH in fairly large print on the front of the jar. i don't know its contents as i am presently lacking in the hogwash department... sorry.
something else, Franks hot sauce mixed with a bit of tabasco sauce and habanera sauce...extremely yummy, but a little spicy.
