| Garfield : The Movie is the first movie about the lazy, Monday hating, lasagna eating, fat cat. Jim Davis created Garfield in a comic strip decades ago and in the 90s Garfield had a Saturday morning show called 'Garfield and Friends.' Overall the movie is a very close translation of the cartoon show and comic.
The movie's strong points were the cute moments and slap-stick comedy routines between Garfield and newly adopted dog, Odie. With that said there were a lot of weak points in the movie as the CGI was not done extremely well as Shrek or Finding Nemo and the only CGI character was Garfield. Also the plot was pretty weak. Basically the plot goes... Odie gets adopted, Odie gets lost, Odie gets kidnaped and Garfield has to save him, Garfield saves Odie. This show was amusing for me, although I always loved the Garfield character. If you aren't into Garfield or not a kid, I could see people being very disappointed with this film. | This movie could have been really really bad. Actually it was quite fun and watchable, even though Garfield doesn't translate very well from 2D to 3D. Jennifer Love Hewitt (blamo's own :D) does reasonably well even though in the cartoons Jon never gets this far... Reviewer Rating of Movie : ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | |
