| On 2005's Playing the Angel, Depeche Mode have created their best album since 1990's Violator. Another interesting fact about the album is that Dave Gahan actually did some of the songwriting, his first time doing so on a Depeche Mode record.
The result is a dark album about love, hate, and sin in classic Depeche Mode style. "Precious" holds its own against any of their previous singles, and the rest of the album is great as well. Other highlights include "John the Revelator" and "Damaged People". Reviewer Rating of CD : ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | |
