Many U2 fans will argue over which is better, "The Joshua Tree" or "War", both claiming legitimate views as to which album holds more stamina and resonance of the coming age of U2. My Personal Opinion, I couldn't choose one over the other. War seems to be a bit more powerful in the fact that the music is a little more up tempo than most of The Joshua Tree. War has its own claim to fame, 2 songs, "New Year's Day" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday". Although not as commercially successful than The Joshua Tree radio friendly tunes, they hold more truth in the hearts of fans. In other words, the two albums seem to be almost connected, even though they were released 4 years apart with another album "The Unforgettable Fire" released in between them. What the Joshua Tree doesn't have, War does, and vice versa. War's more energetic and the Joshua Tree is more emotional, both are works of art in their own rank. In the War against War and The Joshua Tree, there is no winner, just a truce. They both hold their own merit and both shine from the same light. I recommend War to anyone who loves U2, especially if you really enjoyed The Joshua Tree.
