Metric's first full-album effort is a strong push onto the music scene. The energy within the songs is amazing, and the music and musicality are simple yet catchy, and not the sort of catchy that wears away after a few listens. The sometimes-evident political messages are not shoved in your face ( la Quasi's Hot Shit), but rather are hinted at to let the listener discern them.

The only song that I can say is not up to par with the rest of the album is Calculation Theme. The lyrics are awkward (except for the last line) and the accompanying keyboared sort of stumbles along. Some may like it, regardless of my opinion. There are some other moments where the lyrics make the music quite awkward to listen to, but those are rare.

I recommend this disc to anyone who's looking for a fresh addition to their music collection. The songs are of a quality that demands repeated listens.
