| On their 1993 debut, Boise's Built to Spill introduced the world to their catchy, hook-filled indie rock. The Pacific Northwest was immersed in the grunge scene in the early 1990s, but with catchy tracks like "Three Years Ago Today" and "Get A Life", Doug Marstch and company proved that not all alternative music had to be dark.
