| 2003's The Ugly Organ sounds like an off-kilter rock opera. And I'm sure you can guess by the album's title that it isn't about pinball machines.
On this stunning album, Tim Kasher and company go from one style and tempo to the next with ease and comfort. They easily go from the heaviness of "Some Red Handed Sleight of Hand" to the catchiness of "The Recluse" (which was already one of my favorite songs of all time when I saw them perform it at Coachella in 2004 and fell in love with it even more).
